Argh! (Destiny)

Recommended Posts

I play Destiny and only Destiny (PVP) these days  - yes I know I have a problem, but until something else comes along that I like...

Several things frustrating me at the moment, but lets start with two related ones.

The first one, although lag has been an ongoing issue, and thus the purchase of the netduma, I have never been the one who is red or yellow bar in the game - though it felt like I should be sometimes, I always showed solid green bar. Now it seems like I am frequently red or yellow bar during matches when I have strict turned off in the host filtering.

Secondly, EVERY time I turn off strict mode I connect to one of two servers, either one in Ireland or this one in Brazil ID: 07369a65d3a6595e    Distance: 5315mi. i am in the central US and have my radius set at 660 miles (this is an ever changing number as I attempt to find something that works).

I assume these are dedicated servers (based on other reading in the forum) as there is no button to update them in the host descriptor box, just ping, trace & popout. That sucks! These servers always ping above 300 and I've seen them as high as 800. Every time I get sick of this and turn strict back on I get a host of beaver errors that boot my as I am flying in or mid game at least 50-70% of the time.

My internet diagnosis from netduma are below as are my current settings - and I've tried many different combinations. Oh and I guess I'll stick a third one in here too - I am only getting half of my normal speeds no matter what settings I use. I have a fiber 100 up/down connection and I have gone through and tried every suggestion I've read in the wiki & the forum, changing one item at a time, rebooting and then rerunning speed test after each change - some changes made it even worse, but none have gotten my above half of normal. I tested my connection directly (no router) and I get full speed. I am currently the only one in the house for a week and a half so I have no competition for bandwidth.

ANY & ALL help is very much appreciated in improving my experience!

Hey, for your speeds:

  • Reactive algo
  • 100% sliders
  • Share excess on
  • Device prio reset and applied
  • IPv6 off in WAN, LAN and in misc
  • Deep packet off in misc

Do you have the R1 in the DMZ of your hub or is it in modem mode? Either way disable UPnP forwarding in misc

Do you have manual port forwarding settings on also? If so choose only that or UPnP, not both.

You should be putting the anti-flood sliders to 70/70 when gaming. You shouldn't be pinging that high to them at all.

Reflush the cloud by applying it again

We recommend strict off, sounds like they are dedicated servers as the people you're blocking are connecting through them.

What is the average ping you're getting on peer ping?

yup anything else?

Could it be that they're using a server which isn't registered as a server on the R1? You could try and look out for any triangles on the GeoFilter when you get kicked then post it on the whitelist thread :)

i'll do that...the issue is I do carries to the lighthouse in destiny every weekend (with popular streamers) as I am a carrying partner me DC'ing is a lose which brings us back to game one...Can't really have that just to find some servers...i'll just deal with the issue being an issue *shrug*

Ensure you have the cloud up to date as well. I'll be taking the Xbox back home to update it and then do some more testing. It's been said they've introduced SBMM now so want to see how that has affected things.

sounds good, just can't lose on my main account for testing and don't have a lvl 40 secondary account to test with

Just trying to find a game with Geo-filter kicked from every single game of Clash on Destiny. Have to disable it for trials. It was working fine but a few days ago it went terrible. Any idea whats the issue. Thanks
