its actually in a different subnet than the residential. Ping seemed more steady though. Not paying any different.

Comcast is telling me they contacted Activision and they do not use dedicated servers of any kind. Cough cough. Is there anyone on here that can hit me with an xbox server ip for me to give them? Thanks.

Now that's funny.

Hope your new gear workout for you and I'm sure someone will be along shortly to give you a dedi ID,I'm on PS4 or i'd help you out

Yea they said they want actual IP for xbox, I gave them, a bunch of id's. Its amazing though if I email the ceo they come running to try and fix. You know if it was not on their end they would tell me everything was ok. I'm dying to get home and try this out.

oh my bad. though you had a typo there. they actually think we can give XB server ip addresses? if that info were public, I think we'd see a lot more ddos attacks on XB than we do now!

I said that to my wife.

So going by these, forget about new modem, it looks like I have the most stable ping to california, Im 3000 miles away or that would be the farthest point tested in actual miles. This may be why bo3 seems to play better with geo off or using a different router. Just a thought. Guess I will see how it plays tonight.

Hey Secretface,

We have the same internet package, except now you have a business account, but I think I have a theory on what's going on with us on the East Coast.

Could you try my setup for about 30min or so. Play some FFA either Core or Hardcore.

Put the geo-filter exactly where I have mine and set the PA to 0.

Set the CC to my settings and check DSLReports speed test to confirm your BB and Quality are an A+ for both.

If they're not an A+, lower them to achieve an A+ or an A if you're getting less than 20ms spikes during the BB testing.

Make sure you have an Open NAT, obviously.

If my theory is correct, you should have great hit detection and go off on some fools.

Hopefully you have some great games and if so I'll fill you in on my working theory.

I have to hook the duma back up. As a test for them I was to use it exactly how they set it up for 3 days. My printer dosen't even work LOL but I will def try tomorrow as I think their 3 days are up. Since the newer modem it is much better but we have seen BO3 change at the drop of a hat. Also isn't double lag weekend start this weekend? LOL

Thank you for your help and I will try tomorrow.

Activision is correct, they're not dedicated servers in the sense you think they are. They don't actually host the game, its a hybrid between listen and p2p.

FQs19 I tried these settings in tdm last night. Im not much of a FFa player probably because I don't play it much. I had a steady ping line on the duma of 60ms almost the entire time. I changed lobbies for every match evn though it sometimes put me back in the same lobby but same result. It played very well though.

Thank You

It will put you back in the same lobby if you don't wait 2 minutes for the Anti-Cheat feature of the Netduma to clear that host.

For some reason team games in this COD are just shit for me. That's why I only play FFA.

With the new modem I'm still having a great time with the game even during double xp. I see not much difference in your setup and what I had before the modem FQs19. The only difference is Your setup dosen't include the east coast, I usually did. But thank you! I'm usually on after 8pm est if any other xboners wanna see if my good lobbies help you.

Secret, the new modem has stopped your jitter spikes ? If so this could help others with jitter.

Have you tested with ping plotter with the new modem?

Z My ping was pretty steady before with the occasional spike (this was after you had seen it) Now it goes between 15 and 16 but rarely changes. I get the occasional 20 something but then right back to 15 16. I always run ping plotter. I was keeping a picture diary of the spikes before. I was only pinging the last comcast hop before it goes on the web to show them where it was happening. So 2 years a million visits and several emails to the ceo and it may be fixed? So weird, I believe it may be fixed as the residential line could be over sold as you have said many times. Currently pingplotting google at 15ms which is actual 3000 driving miles away with snow detours probably more, lol. I hope this is the end. Although I am still not gaming local for some reason the low ping games still are delayed. But its playing well so Im happy. Thank You!

Its a cisco dpc3008 modem

What do you think a listen sever is?

It's a server on a dedicated machine that is "listening" for players to be put on it. This is what the MM does after it gathers players together in a virtual lobby.

If there were no servers, there would not be consistent circles in the GF we are all familiar with e.g. Kansas, NYC, Los Angeles, Chicago, etc.

If you mean, a dedicated server run by human (admins), than, no. But this is semantics because a dedicated server means a machine meant for players only where nobody is hosting the match. If somebody is hosting the match on their console, this is the definition of P2P.

Well so much for that! the last two days have been crapola. Pining still the same. I just don't get why they won't fix this game. I guess we can all blame my internet but I don't see a thing wrong with it at the moment. Been watching closely and its the same just the game laaags with that second delay that was there before. Oh well time for scrabble !~
