zuhloobie reacted to skschatzman in Status Update on Firmware
We will be beta testing. There is a closed and open beta. There is a very good reason why it is done this way.

Not a shill or plant, just offering my 2¢...and some positivity if you will. I'm on 4.0.41 and aside from a few random drops, the R3 is working just fine for me 🤷♂️. Haven't gone crazy with settings, just basic stuff.

Bandwidth doesn't equal better games. Also no ps or Xbox servers will let you break 1gbps btw.

Glad to hear it's working now, the next firmware is a beefy one so will be all around more stable

@DARKNESS
Okay. It must be a Samsung bug. Because I'm still connected even if it says connected without internet after a while when I restart the router. I copy and paste with Google Translate and it highlights blue.

@Netduma Fraser / @Zippy
Added both wired/wireless PS5 devices to the Geo-Filter Started CoD MW3, but it wasn't showing any blocked servers on the R3 app - still wouldn't connect to the game Remembered I had blocked Portarlington, Ireland (4,100 miles away) at one point and unblocked it Once I unblocked that server, I had zero issues connecting to the game. Tried several times restarting the game on both PS5s, always connected. Geo-Filter radius continues to be respected So, I think we're good! I really appreciate the top-notch attentiveness and helpfulness, you two!

Question (no rush) are there any disadvantages for keeping the CenturyLink wireless on? My thinking is this:
CenturyLink Wireless for... Devices like Roku, Ring cams, phones, garage door, tablets, etc because the signal is much, much stronger (unfortunately the R3 can't reach some devices very well) Netduma R3 Wireless/Wired for... One work computer (wired), one PS5 (wired) and one PS5 (wireless) Unless that dumb? Anything that could cause a significant issue?
Or do you suggest to kill the wireless on CenturyLink and go full-R3 (and figure out a way to boost the signal)?
Attached is a picture of how it's arranged right now.

It's better to have everything connected to the R3 but it'll probably be fine as long as those devices aren't heavily using bandwidth when you're gaming as the R3 QoS won't be able to control them. So I would say see how it is with that setup, if you're noticing issues like lag when gaming and those other devices are being used then may be worth looking into boosting the signal.

While in the pre-game lobby screen, I added both PS5s to "Devices" in the Geo-Filter. Started a game and it connected just fine, stayed within my Geo-Filter. Turned off the game, started it again, and it connected just fine.
I won't be able to test further until tonight, but this all seems very positive. Thanks so much for all of your help! Will report back ASAP.

Okay so if you add them back to the Geo-Filter then launch the game there is likely something blocked on the map causing it. If you click it to ping then add it to the allow list that should resolve it - you may need to do it a couple of times if they use different servers for it.

Have you got the device added to the Geo-Filter? If so if you remove it can you connect normally?
-
zuhloobie reacted to Netduma Fraser in No Connection/Dropping Connection After Bridging
Ahh, yes you do, change it to DHCP then reboot and try again

Okay, I know I can disable the CenturyLink WiFi - thanks Sweet Good info, thanks Will report back once I do it - might be later today.

Best thing would be to disable the CenturyLink WiFi is there is a chance devices will auto connect back to it Yes that's correct Once you take the CL out of bridge mode check back on the R3 WAN Settings page and it'll have an IP you can enter into the DMZ -

Go into Settings>Troubleshooting>Advanced. There you will see System Logs..
Hopefully that will help you!
Thanks!

@zuhloobie
The suggestions below should help if you are continuing to connect to servers outside of your radius.
* Disable GeoLatency
* Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0)
* Enable Strict Mode
* Disable Fast Search
Then restart the game if that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and check again.

The above should help with the Geo-Filter. In terms of the disconnects, if you give the R3 a DHCP reservation on the other router, then reboot the R3 does that prevent the issue happening again?
