@Netduma Fraserany idea why the classified games has a different ratio that causes this. I’ve tested that it happened whenever it’s on. Feels like a delay? Why it happens in general.
-
@Netduma Fraser I have an Xbox series x what would you recommend? Games console and then check the wan box? I’m hardwired.

Hey guys I was just wondering earlier today I had my dumaos classified games active and had noticed that my upload counter was significantly higher than my download counter🫠. I wish I had taken a screenshot of it before I factory reset the router but I belief upload was going higher and higher compared to the download counter when the red lights are flashing.
what I also noticed was that call of duty specifically warzone begun to have this weird “lag” effect. It wasn’t actual lag such as rubber banding or anything but more like a server delay, but registration felt worse and I could feel my character delayed compared to the opponents. I’ve begun to notice that this happens when dumaclassified OS is ticked.
my ISP is spectrum gig symmetrical speeds so more than enough bandwidth and no packet loss or signal issues with my line according to spectrum. Also I have the latest .134 firmware on the XR500. Any help would be appreciated!

I genuinely have a question that I can't seem to figure out what it could possibly be. So I mainly play MW3 and warzone. I use a CAT8 cable directly hardwired to my Xbox series x. With that said. Gameplay ranging from ping to aim assist to hit registration to literally even the lobbies I'm getting feel significantly better on wifi...
I know it's sounds dumb but I'm genuinely confused. So I asked my buddy that works as a spectrum technician to come over tell me if it's a placebo effect and after about 6 hours we figured that it's not. I don't believe it's something specifically with the XR500 but the same thing happeslns with my linksys velop and Asus ROG strict routers as well. I even asked my brothers to tell me if they feel better gameplay wise on the 2.4ghz wifi and they agree it does vs Ethernet.
Sorry if it's a weird question. Genuinely curious as to why. Thanks!

I've just always been an Xbox player so naturally always had a controller. It's just weird with my network infrastructure. I get 7-8 ping and my speeds are around 970DL AND 41UL no packet loss or anything. So yeah I don't know what it could be. Used to happen on my Xbox one as well. I've always had this isp so I don't know if it's oversaturated.

@TrayDayit seems that it happens on all the games now. I thought it was a placebo but earlier I had my friends over and they tried it out and felt the same as well.
I don't know if it's SBMM but it differs from match to match in cod. Never consistent. It feel loose if that's a way to put it.
I see alot of video where people are saying it's legal aimbot. I just don't get that type of effect.
It's not just cod but all the other games too.
The more settings I mess with on the XR500 the more it becomes worse. Especially when traffic prio is on.
-
@Netduma Fraser couple of weeks ago you had given me the beta access file and I tried that but things had seems to get worse. So I had outed the XR500 for a bit and factory reset it to the .34 firmware which seems the most stable. Hit registration and everything else feels sluggish. Unless the R2 is the way to go.
-
This is gonna be a really dumb thing on my part to bring up so I'm gonna preface this. Over the last couple weeks since the new update on warzone. I seem to get practically no aim assist. I went into the settings and triple checked everything. Everything is the same. I had switched to using my old Linksys router and it was doing great until it wasn't. So I switched back to my XR500 and seem to have no aim assist in game. It's a noticeable difference.
Now when I bypass the router and connect my Xbox straight to the modem my connection on top of hit registration and aim assist feels amazing. But when I have the XR500 connected in between. It seems to disappear. My Xr500 is running .34 firmware. I have the spectrum gigabyte service. Brand new CAT8 cables all around. Checked all settings and nothing changed. I know I'm not a bad player either just a bit frustrated.
I just want to know how I can fix that. Or get the same gameplay feeling such as when I directly connect to the modem.
I added my stats from last season. Since this season the stats are bugged. Just to indicate I'm not a bad player or on a delivery because I play consistently. I just don't know what it could be.

I'm on the XR500 and might get the R2 since it gets firmwares more often. But disabling the UPNP and then reserving the Xbox series x IP and giving it static reserved IP and then port forwarding 3074 for it? Should it be for TCP AND UDP? When port forwarding?. Also what would happen to the PS5 since upnp would be off?
-
I usually have port 3074 on for my Xbox series x but recently when I got my PS5, the port on my Xbox has changed to a different number 55374.
Is there a way to make sure the PS5 and Xbox use both the same 3074 port without changing? Or is it possible to make sure that Xbox stays on port 3074 while PS5 can use a different port. I want to make sure the Xbox atleast stays on that port and doesn't change.
Thank you.

I had a question if anyone knows about what ports in traffic prioritization for Warzone should I setup for my Xbox series x under advanced. I've seen some posts from people making traffic period for cod and doing 3074-3074 I've even seen 1024-65535 under advanced and then normal. Just wondering what I should traffic prio formmy Xbox series x for warzone under traffic prio. Thank you! Also I tried duma Classified Games but I use Ethernet and it seems to make my connection worse when. I have classified games on

@Netduma Fraser so I hooked up my Netgear orbi as well and removed my Netgear xr500 and made the same changes on the orbi that I made on the xr500 and same result. I don't know how to find accurate proof because it's more of a feel thing but to make sure I had my brother and friend try it out after changing it and they could tell there was a difference in the game play. Reverting it back to the factory settings changed it back to the original gameplay style you could say. I have the cts threshold at 5 right now and it makes the game feel completely different than in 2347 which is the default.
-
@Netduma Fraser I brought down the cts rts threshold down to one and my game feels completely different for the both of us actually.the settings are effecting the Ethernet side
-
@Netduma Fraser so something weird I noticed and I asked my friend to do the same thing. I have an xr500 and he has a R2 we both turned off mumimo and implicit beam forming. While also being hardwired and immediately noticed that hit registration felt much better and stronger so then we turned it back on and it went back to being bad. Then we turned it off again and was better again. Also CTS/RTS threshold is set at 2347 we both lowered it to 64 which is Netgear's test environment threshold and the gameplay was significantly smoother. Neither of us are on wifi. So why are these settings effecting gameplay?
-
Title should they be on if I'm gaming whole using hardwire Ethernet?
Should these settings be on under the advanced tab

Will do @Netduma Fraser I appreciate it!

@Netduma Fraser no none. I think it's just an issue that bugged in now permanently. Kinda like what the guy was saying in the post I linked uptop. I keep smart control on. It gets stuck in a boot cycle every hour or so and disconnects everything. Reverting firmware then upgrading doesn't do anything. Seems like a perma bug. The way it happened was by having smart control on and ht160 on. Since then even having ht160 off and with factory resets it still remains.
-
@Netduma Fraser it's been turned off. For a couple weeks now. The issue is still there. I think the xr500 is just bricked.
-
The forum post is just linked is exactly what's happening with mine. Word for word. The same issue. I bought the XR500 brand new about a year and half ago from GameStop. Seems like it's failing or maybe just a bug glitch that doesn't get cleared when cache is cleared from factory reset/reverting firmware.

@Netduma Fraser i tried to load the beta up again but it says that the OS is not supported something along that line.
Also these are some forum questions which you responded to.
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-Routers/XR500-rebooting-itself/td-p/1940732
Seems like it's an occurrence. And mine will work for a few minutes then reboot itself in the middle of gaming or business calls. It'll reboot itself back to normal. But then crash..
There was a forum post somewhere that I had read and the person said that it glitches the firmware on the Router or router itself when HT160 and smart control are active at the same time. Since then even after disabling ht160 then smart control does not work.

Held the button until all the lights turned off and the led turned orange and the network SSID reverted back to it's original name.
Also something to note is that I can't use 2.4Ghz by itself I always have to split into 2.4g and 5g. The reason is because when I have only 2.4ghz on and just one SSID with smart control. The router many times will crash and reboot itself. It has happened every time I have smart control on with one SSID. Instead of splitting them into 2.4 and 5. It never used to happen but one time I turned on 160hz and then disabled it and noticed that after the regardless of factory reset or reverting firmware the router after a few hours or so will crash and completely disconnect everything and then reboot itself. I realized that the only way to stop that was from having to split SSID. Basically making smart control obselete. @Netduma Fraser

Through the GUI and the button.i tried it twice just to be sure. The only way it reset itself was by reverting the firmware to .114 and then factory reset and then updating to .134 when the prompt said an update is available. Once the .134 duma os was loaded like normal. I went and changed the qos settings and factory reset again. Same thing. The setting's remained and nothing was changed. @Netduma Fraser
-
@Zippy I haven't tried the IPV6 with UPNP disabled. How do you set your IPV6 up? Do you simply hit auto configuration? Furthermore I tried to factory reset my xr500. Which it did but after setting everything up through the setup menus when I got back into the XR500 GUI the qos settings still remained and nothing was properly erased @Netduma Fraser
Question about DumaOS Classified on XR500

I can’t seem to find a concrete answer but is DumaOS classified games only for when playing games on WiFi? I have my Xbox hardwired via Ethernet so does DumaOS classified have any real impact on it or should I just turn it off?
