As has been stated many times in the forum posts we are waiting for a firmware update which should address most of the issues you mention. Expected by end of the week or early next week latest. Netduma are currently testing to make sure its good to go before releasing. The router is functioning as of 0.23 but there are issues that need to be fixed which they are aware of. I guess we just wait and have faith the guys have this in hand.

I'm just glad I'm not relying on Netgear to resolve the issues. We'd be talking months or maybe years to get fixes.

Expected by end of the week or early next week latest. Here we go again.

  2. Look guys, let’s be honest here. Duma OS is complex animal. Netduma has struggled with firmware across the board. Sometimes it takes a year to receive an update. For example, look at the R2 beta. It appears the that the beta has been abandoned all together. I can understand why long standing Netduma customers might be frustrated,

  3. @Mobelwhat is the frustration? Try reviewing the forum posts. The router has some serious issues. Features not working at all, Poor optimization leading to high CPU usage. Honestly, I don’t think a firmware will be released this week. I assume that it would have already been released by now. Must be another blocker or the previous blocker hasn’t been resolved. And it’s highly unlikely that’s its adblocker.

  4. I asked about the CPU fix for the past few weeks. It’s very frustrating that a hot fix has not been released. The CPU usage is too high on this router which indicates that DumaOS 4.0 is highly unoptimized. I’ve observed high CPU usage with only a PS5 console attached via network cable idle with no other devices attached via network cable or WiFi.I’m concerned that we’re are getting the run around here. Network latency is a key factor for gaming and the CPU usage on this router is a huge problem. I have over 40 devices attached to my Asus router with concurrent video streaming etc and cpu usage hovers around 10%. It goes up to 35-40% for heavy downloads. With the R3 certain CPU’s spike to 100% at idle. With an average of like 20% usage at all times. This is with just 1 device attached. A PS5 sitting on the Home Screen.

  5. @DARKNESSi’m referring to releases fixes incrementaly. Clearly you don’t understand what I’m saying. For example, release the cpu utilization issue first if it has been tested followed by additional fixes after they have been tested properly instead of waiting for all of the bugs to be fixed. Try reading and comprehending before shooting off with baseless acussations..

  6. This is not possible with your current configuration unless your main router supports IPv6 prefix delegation. The Comcast modem does not support this. Essentially, your issue is related to the cascaded router configuration (Netduma behind the Comcast modem). With this configuration the Netduma router is not on the same subnet as your Comcast modem, so IPv6 for the internet won’t be available on your Netduma devices. Keep in mind that with 2 routers you have two networks. Your ISP provides an IPv6 address for your home network where a portion of the address space could be delegated to another network. The problem is that the Comcast modem doesn’t support this type of configuration.

I was able to get IPv6  prefix delegation working with Comcast with a cascade router configuration;however, I’m using my own router instead of a Comcast router which is opnsense based and supports IPv6 prefix delegation.

Google “What is IPv6 prefix delegation”

  7. It is not mandatory to obtain Wi-Fi certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance for a newly developed Wi-Fi based product. However, obtaining certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance ensures that the product meets industry standards for interoperability, security, and performance.

All hardware isn’t the same.  Older routers could achieve greater WiFi performance by using specific chipsets from certain vendors. Maybe Netduma will release a pro version of their router with beefed up hardware. 2.5g WAN port. WiFi Alliance certified chipset etc. I would rather see a steady cadence of firmware updates though. If you review the forum there are quite a few issues. Need to get those resolved before the reviews start coming in.
