  1. No. IPv6 on enabled on the lan or wan breaks cc. It also causes problems with upnp. Honestly, I gave up on the R3 and ended up buying an Asus GT-BE98 pro. Yes, I spent a boatload of money on it, but the core features work. I might keep the R3 for a bit longer and maybe set it up as a secondary router. At this point it looks like it will go on EBay. Hopefully I can recover at least %50.

  2. The other issue is the lack of transparency. Netduma as a company really did a poor job on the launch of this product. To this day no one on the Netduma leadership team has acknowledged the issues. Fraser takes care of it on these forums. It’s as if in their mind this is Ok. The R3 video’s hype’s this product to a huge extent. The company spent more effort on the video’s then the product itself. The R2 launch was much more successful.

  3. @swippurYou do realize that you most of the core features of the router turned off? I’m not sure why this would be acceptable? You’re basically using the R3 for QOS. What’s the point of the R3?

Here’s my setup, I set everything up to have bare minimum CPU usage, I pretty much only want gaming traffic to be prioritized

I have wireless disabled (I have a dedicated WiFi 7 access point connected with Ethernet)

I have RGB turned completely off

    Adblock Disabled

I don’t use GEO filter and I turned steady ping off

    I have ipv6 disabled

Port scan disabled and firewall disabled

    Custom DNS servers, 8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4

Congestion Control settings 70% download and upload

I have smart boost on with gaming priority set at 1000

  4. I would stick with your previous router. Most of the core R3 features work properly and you will end having to disable them meaning the R3 is no better than a XR1000. Other things not working is CC with IPV6, port forwarding with IPv6 on PS5 etc. Netduma has been promising a firmware for about 2 monthes, and we don’t know specifically what’s being addressed. All we know is that they are working on a firmware that is “supposed” to address these issues. Up to this point none of the issues have been addressed besides a cpu utilization problem.

  5. @Netduma FraserI appreciate your help as always, but let’s be honest here. The R3 was released with core router features that simply don’t work. It was released too early. That coupled with the slow firmware releases and lack of transparency on what’s being addressed by the development team compounds this situation. I’ve been a long standing Netduma customer for a long time and firmware updates on DumaOS have been problematic for years, across the board. At this point, I’ve given up and swapped the R3. Simply too much tinkering that I need to do with port forward, IPv6 with congestion control,  Steady Ping not working with Warzone etc. Basically, I need to turn off all of the core R3 features, so I’m better off using my Asus router.

  6. @Michu89 this is fair, but honestly, Netduma’s SDLC requires a lot of work. They don’t release firmware updates frequently, even for critical issues. We basically had to complain to get the CPU usage fix released and honestly, we would still be waiting for that fix if we didn’t complain (poor Fraser). It’s almost been 2 months and we still have not seen firmware for the other issues; furthermore, the lack of transparency is troublesome. We don’t know what’s being worked and how it’s being prioritized.

  7. Nothing yet for the pertinent issues. Congestion control and upnp doesn;t work with the PS5 when IPv6 is enabled. Steady ping doesn’t work with warzone. I don’tthink that Netduma can fix these issues. No indication on what’s being worked on etc. This router wasn’t tested before it rolled. Core features not working, they rushed it out to make money.
