jame0174 reacted to DARKNESS in playstation and xbox not showing up on smart boost
@jame0174I get what your saying but as I stated that's normal behavior. They could add the option were if your using a cached browser/App it stays on that specific selection so something to check out @Netduma Fraser

Do a speed test through the browser on the PS5 the servers that Sony connects you to are typically slow and inaccurate.

jame0174 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Download speeds lower on ps5
Exactly as above - also try a download on the console, you may find it actually downloads closer to your speeds, proving the speedtest is just an estimate

Yeah thats on Sonys end, and theres nothing you can do about it unfortunately. Im like 99% sure Sony caps the speeds out.I had symetrical gig like you do, and when I ran a speed test from a PS5, I ended up with the same issues. Download wasn't to bad, but upload was chopped into pieces. I wouldn't get to worried over it, again as its something well out of anyones control. Not you, Netduma, or your ISP can change how fast it can go sadly. Its what made me switch back to xbox, and then eventually just realized everything was nicer on PC

jame0174 reacted to Netduma Fraser in speed test not working
Factory reset can be done either via the interface or by holding the reset button in the back of the router for 30 seconds. Unplugging is just a reboot.
The firmware is attached to the first post on that link, there is also an alternate download link at the bottom of that post.

jame0174 got a reaction from Disrek in r3 firmware problems
the duma team does a great job at trying to give everyone the best experience possible. So its ok to stay at an earlier firmware as long as its not mandatory..I always like to keep all my devices up to date if possible. thats all

jame0174 reacted to HANDSOME KING in Block list
Remove everyone from your block list and watch how much easier it is to find better lobbies. There's no one on my block list in the COD menu or on my Xbox Live profile. This will also make it easy for every Duma OS user to find each other. When the problem isn't lag, it's going to boil down to your skills. I hope this helps someone out there and you end up having a wonderful experience.

jame0174 reacted to Killhippie in NetDuma & Netgear
For a start Netgear are not really supporting Netduma products by the looks of it and many routers like the XR500/XR450 and XR300 and XR700 are end of life, this means no patches from Netgear or security support after 5 years from release, if you have one of these get a new router just for your own security, as Netduma are now trying to juggle their firmware and a bunch of Linux code with proprietary blobs from Netgear they cant update as they have no access to it. Please note Netduma handle the gaming side but the code they cant update is the base router code for security and bugs in Netgear's own firmware.
The only router currently supported still is the XR1000 by the looks of it. If Netgear were going to put a full 6E Netduma router out that would have happened by now. Netgear are moving on to Wi-Fi 7 as is every other manufacturer now. A routers life is about 5 years then move on, and if you have FTTP over 300MBps you dont need QoS anyway. Get a pi-hole if you want to block adverts instead.

jame0174 got a reaction from bcoe30 in NetDuma & Netgear
when dumaos first came out it was great. But as time went on it was to problematic and i gave .up on it right now i just use my plain jane nighthawk router and having a better time with it.I Feel it was just a gimmick yes it helps with ping but still too many problems' to mention.it's been a year now without it and i have better game play without my r2 or xr 1000

jame0174 reacted to Derlandes in NetDuma & Netgear
I've always said that. Almost every day I enter this forum to check if they have released a new firmware for the XR1000. I noticed that, it takes a long time to fix the router problems, and when they release a new firmware, the old problems remain, and new problems arise. At the same time, the team does not even let us know the progress of the fix. We were adrift, not knowing anything.
