It has been added back in the latest Early Access update so must have been a regression. Yeah that would be a good idea, thanks!
Yes it should work just the same, all it needs to do is to allow you to add the PC to the Geo-Filter without having to select a specific game.
I do like that idea and I'll certainly pass it onto the team!

Is that on this firmware version? Are you saying the router reboots itself when you click save after entering the ID or it disconnects then reconnects without it being saved?
Great to hear! Correct, if the R3 can't control the whole network then it won't be as effective in that sense
Yes you can do so via the DumaOS app or accessing via a web browser

big shout out to Fraser and the Netduma team. I received my warrantied replacement R3 and it's working as it should be.
The new R3 is in the same spot as the old and using the same cables, etc, and the USB and Wifi bands are back. Old unit definitely had something internally wrong whether it was hardware or firmware related.
I'm adding a TP-Link Deco router to my network so use as an AP to offload certain devices from the R3. R3 is primarily to manage the network overall and primarily used for the wired PCs for gaming.
Internet -> Modem -> R3 -> Wired to our gaming PCs
R3 -> Deco in AP mode -> Most Wifi Devices
The idea is to use DumaOS features for the entire network. I'm wondering if there's any benefit to flipping the Deco with the R3 and let the R3 primarily manage the wired PCs and the Deco manage the rest (Internet -> Modem -> Deco -> R3 -> PCs). Would bufferbloat and QoS features not run as well / more likely to interrupt gaming?

    @Netduma Fraser,
I did a factory reset on v.4.0.540. No changes to the 5GHz band. Devices seem to only detect it within 5'.
I downgraded to v.4.0.290. No changes. Devices also seem to only detect it within 5'. I tried auto and assigning a channel to the 5GHz and this doesn't change anything regarding the range to exceed 5'. Logs attached for what it's worth.
To reiterate, no walls in-between where I am testing, no other online devices, no other changes to the environment when the 5GHz band used to work with OK range. Antenna's have been in the same position as well.
Literally just one day the 5GHz only reaches 5' out. At first, I thought it was simply down. It's up, just only within 5' lol.
Heck, even the 5Ghz band used to reach outside 20' through the exterior walls.
Please let me know next steps. It's been I think 3 months on this router. I worry it gets more issues with age.
I can try to unplug and plug the antenna's back in just as a sanity check..
Update: Plugging the antenna back in did nothing.
I also noticed my USB laptop fan I have plugged into the R3 router (have always had my R3 on it with 0 issues) isn't turning on. This never prevented a 5GHz signal going beyond 5' as the signal was much stronger before on the same laptop fan.
I then went and tested multiple low power USB devices on the R3 USB port and no device gets power, no phone will charge, no device will power on, no power light on it, nothing. So now the USB port doesn't work. Not sure if this got shot during a firmware update/factory reset.
Something tells me an internal part of this R3 has stopped working that feeds power/connections to the USB and/or 5GHz antenna. I wonder if the device only works within 5' because the 5GHz antennae aren't connecting to something internally, so the router loses the range the antennae provide.
2.4GHz works fine, it seems. no clue if these use different antennae, though.
    To add...
I have found other posts with similar issues, so it seems it's not only me.
I have done what you have suggested in other posts below:
Split the bands, give 2.4/5GHz different names and apply - you'll want to connect to 5GHz specifically for speeds Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that Experiment with the widths to see what gives better results Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible Set the antennae to this position _ | | _ Again, literally nothing changed and just the other day the 5GHz range went down to 5' only against multiple devices (so I know it's not my phone), and my USB port isn't working. I am still downgraded to firmware v.4.0.290.
Satuday update: I did a hard reset with the button on the back for 30 seconds, waited 5 min, and still nothing has changed.
I had turned on Remote Access as I'd like someone to poke around and check anything else. Without any resolution, I would like to do a warrantied replacement/RMA.
    Sunday update:
My work laptop and only my Iphone 14 pro is disconnecting constantly due to DHCP requests. I have it set to 10000 minutes as well as assigning a static IP address to the device. In system logs (added logs), you can see it constantly trying to connect to my iphone and identifying "DHCPREQUEST" and "DHCPACK". I've restarted my phone, re-assigned a new IP address, and it is still doing the same thing. My phone constantly is going on/off the 2.4GHz band and now my work laptop (unfortunately i had to work this weekend).
My phone and work laptop on the 2.4GHz band now show a weaker signal in the Device Manager even though I am in plain sight from the router (router even pointing at me) within 20'. It hadn't been this weak before. Again, no added interference. Iphone wifi settings are the same as the wives and hers stays connected.
I also received my USB Digital Multimeter. Works on ports on my PC. Plugged it into the back of the router and it receives no power. Got this to further confirm if the USB port is working or not.

I've been on the latest firmware since the beta with factory reset at time of update. It was only until recently that the 5GHz band got extremely weak.
I may first factory reset on the current firmware, check the 5GHz range, and if it's still weak, I can downgrade and try that.
It will have to be later tonight.
    I'll report back then.

Hi Fraser. Yes, I usually have to wait 10-30 seconds and view it again, then it'll be updated, or I need to apply the setting again and wait - this applies for just 1 setting.
For "many" settings at once, it may be 2-3. For example, I may add multiple games to Smartboost, or update the priority numbers for a few - it'll revert after 10 seconds, and I have to apply them all again and wait. Or I may be testing CC settings, so I'll flip CC to always on and change the download % to test in waveform.
All of the above happens in Edge, Chrome, and the browser you suggested, OperaGX (thought I'd give it a whirl).

Regarding the lag/rubber banding, please allow me to clarify with my hardware and my tests.
My PC rarely lags, if ever. It's a Z790 Asus hero, 4090 strix OC edition, Intel 14900K, with 32GB ram and loads of M.2 SSD samsung 980 pro storage. PC is healthy as healthy can be, drivers updated, etc. I understand networking is separate but just want to clarify my hardware specs first as some may suggest checking if hardware is aged.
I can play Valorant and, on the same exact PC, have 20+ browser tabs open, a live youtube video or any video as far as I can tell, playing live on my second monitor. I can click a bunch of tabs open to load, and Valorant won't rubber band, and ping barely rises. I even can run the waveform bufferbloat test on the second monitor while playing Valorant and no rubber banding happens - ping does rise from my ~19-24 to ~50, but i don't necessarily feel lag and again - 0 rubber banding.
When I am in the router interface and click through settings, Valorant will rubberband me around for 15 seconds. Even simply clicking "Stats for nerds" will trigger me to rubberband for 15 seconds. I literally start skipping around, my character "rewinds" back to random places, and once it snaps back in, i'll appear somewhere very random nearby. This happens on all 3 browers listed above, even the OperaGX. So not sure why clicking through the router triggers this when nothing else I do with web browsers causes it.

    Hi Netduma team.
I had a wifi drop out during a work meeting today. It was for 15 seconds, but still interrupts my work meeting. Logs attached. This happened right around 12:30pm.
Later, our Amazon firestock couldn't connect anymore to the 5GHz network. It just says network error. It's within 5 feet from the router and has always worked. I tried reconnecting it, but no avail. I flipped it to the 2.4GHz and it's fine. Logs also attached. I think this one occurred after 4pm. The logs show some weird errors or messages around those times (the 12:30pm one for sure, I forget the exact time of the other).
Also, as of a few days ago when I flipped steadyping back off to test what works best for Valorant, ping to the same server I always play on in California now has consistent ping above 30. I always have had steadyping off with low ping but was testing with steadyping on which added a lot of ping well over the highest ping I usually got. So going back to my original settings, ping remains above 30.
For the past year, up until the few days ago, even on my old XR500, ping has always been around 17-25, rare spikes to 26. But never above 30 ping. I tried rebooting, but nothing changed.
My buddy in Arizona plays on the same server and their ping hasn't changed. Do I need to factory reset? Is something maybe on the backend of the R3 keeping steadyping on?

Honestly it feels like as time goes on, the router starts chugging down in some way shape or form. The CPU usage and memory on it look to be the same. I do my testing without load on the network. Hope the feedback helps. I can turn on remote access for now.

Thanks for your patience, we've actually stopped using (deleted) the telemetry server so the toggle is essentially useless so you may as well leave it disabled. We'll be removing the option in an upcoming firmware.

hi. per the text in the UI for this, x5 would be highest priority. At least that is my understanding based on what it says.
I have our PC desktops set to x5.
Also congestion control on will reduce speeds accordingly. Double check that too.
Choose a number between 1.0 - 5.0. The higher the number, the more favourably activities on this device will be treated.

I will say Valorant ping spikes in a larger range more than before. Again, minimal and unsure if that's exactly due to R3 firmware update or not. Ping used to be more stable around 19-22 on the same California server. Now it's between 19-24. I just notice a larger spike in ping, per say.
I can say that I don't do as good as consistently. Not sure if it's a placebo, or due to other stress.
Pingplotter can't get toooooo stable, has little spikes to google.com. It ranges between iirc 13-16ms then it'll have some higher spikes every 5-10 seconds. I can't say what pingplotter did on the prior firmware as I think I only looked at it once then.
So yea, primarily just looking at numbers showing and what's consistent in the numbers vs not.

    Cool! thank you.
If devs are using it frequently and can find new enhancements, or data seeing latency, reboots, drop outs, etc, I may be willing to turn it on.
I really just want to know more about it and if it would make an impact. Also want to make sure it doesn't cause additional latency or CPU usage, etc.

The same as far as I am aware.
Great to hear that! Unless they were doing work at 2am I highly doubt it haha. Exactly the same as far as I am aware so no need to update again. We're looking into PO currently.
Right click the page, then go to Inspect (Element), on the window that appears click on the Network tab. Then click the checkbox to disable cache. Then click and hold the browser refresh button, and click Empty Cache and Hard Reload. Then see if it loads correctly please.
Probably needed to change a few things but if you're happy on that version fair enough!
As mentioned there it's primarily for SmartBOOST, not for the Geo-Filter, if it does work we will add it there.
No you don't need to do anything, BI is enabled by default, it may not cover everything and I don't think we've looked into mobile much which is probably why

Netduma team, these updates have been great steps in all the right directions.
I had some posts regarding Link Speed being limited to 10/10 Mbps or 100/100 Mbps on certain LAN ports on the beta forum page for this.
Fraser was very helpful to relay this to the team and overnight they had corrected Port 2, but then Port 3 is still not 1000/1000 and Port 4, which was originally working, is now 10/10. I confirm my PC / ethernet cable is not the issue because it works in Port 1 and 2, but if I simply swap over to Port 3 or Port 4, speed is reduced.
Also, the team had fixed Port 2, so I know they had worked some magic.
I didn't want to lose sight of this on the Beta page since the same firmware was pushed out here.
Can someone possibly let me know if I can or can't reboot, or maybe try to re-update with the same firmware version to see if it fixes the ports? I am hoping to have ports back to normal by the weekend.
Thank you and sorry to re-post here. I'm hoping others can also check their 1-4 LAN ports and check their PC Ethernet settings Link speed as I'm wondering if mine somehow got messed up due to the initial beta firmware install messed up and I had to reboot and re-do it.

    Hi Everyone,
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get a new update with new features and stability fixes out to you.

    Important Note:
You may see "Critical Error: Failed to load minimum required components" after upgrade.
Please ignore this message and refresh the page by pressing CTRL+F5. This will reload the page wihout cache.

    Changelog:
Behavioural Identification is a new feature which identifies traffic based on the way it behaves. This allows us to categorise and prioritise traffic which hasn't yet been added to our DPI database, ensuring day one support for new games. It can also assume and categorise encrypted traffic based on the way that it behaves, which means that, for the first time ever, we can prioritise Gaming, Streaming and Video Calls even while you're using a VPN! New Themes have been added to DumaOS, you can now pick from Traditional Red, Gamer Green, Baby Blue or Cherry Pink WPS Support has been added. Press the WPS button on the back of your R3 to start pairing mode for 2 minutes. Translations have been added to the UI, you can now set your DumaOS to Chinese, Dutch, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish and German. If there are any incorrect translations, you can report them in the change language page. LAN Disconnections have been fixed, you shouldn’t be getting random drop-outs for wired devices anymore. Ping Optimiser has been overhauled and should be quicker and more stable than before. WiFi Auto Channel Selection has been improved, you'll get better speeds over WiFi. PPPoE VLAN compatibility has been fixed, you can now use both PPPoE login and VLAN tags at the same time and everything will work. Memory leaks have been fixed, your unit should no longer have to restart because of memory build up. LAN IPs were sometimes not being assigned before, this is fixed now. Many various frontend fixes. Various Stability and Security Fixes There are more new features coming this year that we've been working on as well. Keep your eyes peeled and we'll hopefully share them soon!
You can install the firmware via Settings > Troubleshooting > Upload Firmware, and upload the file below:
