II N3MES1S II Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Anyone else think there should be a WTB/WTS section for those that are either looking to buy or trying to sell legal and accepted items?
Dillinger Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I think it's a great idea on the surface as I don't have to monitor the spam or deal with the e-mails if something goes awry from a purchase. Then I also remember this is an International website without a paying member base. While it would be easy to add a classification as to whether the poster/respondent was actually a Duma Owning member of the club or not, it wouldn't alleviate all the issues. It could be a liability problem for ownership so I would understand if they didn't want to deal with the added traffic. WTS/WTB is a spammer haven, so you have to build in 2 and 3 stage checks to submit new threads (otherwise it's all pr0n and male enhancement adds) to verify it's a person posting. Then you have to draw a line as to whether the person is a Member of the forum, like a contributing "good" member, or if they just joined to try and sell some stuff, but without any intent to join the community. Web 2-party sales CAN be a nightmare for forum ownership.
II N3MES1S II Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Maybe those that have access to the WTS section must have a transaction ID # from when they purchased the router???
cranium2001 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Or just make it a section like the coal mine where people need to be given access.
Od1n Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 in general a nice idea but mostly not doable since its hard to prevent scams and other things it would have to be done with another third party platform to guarantee a buyer and seller protection like ebay
A7Legit Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I know of a forum that does this, but they added a rating system by others who bought and sold from that member and to be able to buy/sell/trade they needed 100 posts ect... Honestly, I don't think this place needs the headache.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 12, 2015 Administrators Posted December 12, 2015 I like the idea in theory. However, this is a support forum for our product not a marketplace. Just thinking about how to control that and people scamming each other gives me a headache. I can't see this being done for a long time if at all, there are plenty of other places more specialised/suited for it than a support forum.
II N3MES1S II Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 I just thought it would be a neat place sell our gaming gear only not other stuff but ten-four.
