kevo
i purchased a ps4 this past friday and got black ops 3 for it as well. I've notice the difference between both consoles. I know on xbox they have alot of dedis but the game seems to always wanna put me on the terrible kanas city and seattle server which i dont understand that. No matter what i do i always seem to connect to those 2 servers and for some reason on xbox its drops frames alot. now on the ps4 its way different i can connect to any dedi i want and have a nice low ping game but its still those factors of being seconds behind and getting alot of hitmarkers which is getting annoying but overall i think its the games netcoding and terrible lag comp which is implemented has to do with bad hit registration. I just wanted to let you guys know how i things have gone on both consoles like i said overall ps4 is way better to play cod on then xbox one at this moment until gayarch (treyarch) decides to fix this crap lol

shantzonpoint
I noticed this too. Game plays way more consistent on the PS4 for me. My ping is always a rock solid 20-25ms on PS4 where it's wavy 35-40ms on XB1.

A7Legit
XB1 for me in Victoria, Australia isn't too bad, there is a Victorian dedicated server in BO3 on XB1 now. PS4 for me in Vic, AU isn't bad either, although I do not see a Victorian dedi in BO3 on PS4, there is one in neighbouring state and I think I get some compensation for ping distance lol. JConnor
I agree with Kevo's analysis. Since I play both daily (for streams), the PS4 is more consistent. However, the XB1 has improved for me in some respects since launch. It's still behind PS4, but I find the game much more playable on XB1, now compared to a month ago when it launched. Both consoles have their pros, and cons and I am glad I bought both
Dillinger
its amazing playing on ps4 no frame drops and great connections but the hit detection is still kinda bad Agreed. The connection still has problems on the PS4, but it's HALF or less as the litany of problems and blue streak of bad words that the XB1 version caused me. Kevo - Try Illinois. Fuzzy Clam (*respect*) turned me on to playing on the Illinois servers on PS4 and it plays well for me (I live near Seattle, so I am connecting at about 64ms across country). It's not great, but it's MUCH better than Seattle or San Fran, and there "are" games where it truly seems like I can't be killed in a straight up gunfight. I live in San Diego and absolutely despise those two servers (SF & Seattle). I am always partied up with some great Dom players. Playing with them I have about a 6.0 w/l ratio. Whenever I am the party leader, we almost always get San Fran or Seattle servers. We lose about 80% of the games on those servers. I find that the Dallas and Georgia/NC servers play well. The Illinois server is a little inconsistent but still way better than SF and Seattle.

I camped Dallas for a day or two, but didn't notice any significant difference. Hearing this, I am definitely going to camp it again and see if things have changed. I have a theory on Seattle, San Fran, NY and some other server banks, but it's still just wild speculation. I want to play with a few things over the course of a few months, once the DLC drops, to test it a little further before I go wandering out on the limb with a public statement. Dillinger
ima have to try to play on those servers so far im loving the georgia and florida servers I had good success on the Georgia server, at about 80+ms connections. The Florida ones seem to be right in that black hole of too slow to qualify for lag comp, but fast enough to get in a lobby and be 1 second behind everyone...LOL I played with The Reverend Bagsta, over in the UK where he is based, at about 250-300ms ping and there were SEVERAL lobbies where I just destroyed peeps. No such thing as lag comp though, right? LOL
Xacebop
I think a lot has to do with the ps4 user base its like 30 or 40million already, stealing lead console for call of duty was just the icing on the cake. I read an article recently that said for Star Wars battlefront there's more players on ps4 than pc and Xbox combined. Pretty good for a franchise that's been mostly catering to story driven single player games
Alex49H
I can attest that tonight my connection to the Texas server at 40ms was on point on the Xbox One!!! The PS4 felt a bit wonky today. But there is always tomorrow.
