callous chris
hello my speeds are 50 down 18 up most of the times but i noticed some times they fall significantly during certain times 35 down 12 up is average during these hours theoretically i understand i will never need the full use of my bandwidth i just interested. i always have low ping even at the times speeds are less Question one. what speeds should i enter for my bandwidth? question two. when i throttle connection my readings on the speed test still are higher i thought the duma stopped this is there a way to fix this i also use this to avoid getting host on mw3 anyone with "super fast speeds" will understand the pain of host i want my download speed to accurate thanks for the read this duma really has changed my gaming experience many thanks! PharmDawgg
Question one. what speeds should i enter for my bandwidth? Definitely enter what you are getting when you run speedtest with a wired pc. I call them real world results.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted October 3, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted October 3, 2015 Hi Chris, welcome to the forum The speed drops are probably during peek time as you said it happens at certain hours. You could call your ISP and ask them to sort it although I'm not sure if they will do anything about it unless you are getting below the 80% advertised When you get the speed drops, you should change the speeds in congestion control to reflect these new speeds then change them back once they increase. This will mean that congestion control will always be able to work properly
PharmDawgg
question two. when i throttle connection my readings on the speed test still are higher i thought the duma stopped this is there a way to fix this i also use this to avoid getting host on mw3 anyone with "super fast speeds" will understand the pain of host i want my download speed to accurate When you say throttle are you talking about congestion control because your bandwidth should be decreasing when you move the sliders to a % less than 100. (i.e. Bandwidth 100/10 and if you move them to 70/70 it should be 70/7 approximately - it will not be exactly 70%).

PharmDawgg
Welcome to the forum chris. Sorry and mind my manners callous chris but I should have mentioned this earlier. You seem to be new to forum. When you get a chance make a post in our introductions section so the Duma Army can give you a proper welcome. Zennon
Remember to speed test with the sliders at 100% > enter your speeds into the duma > put the sliders back to 70% to game.
Akic
If you complain to an ISP about your speeds they'll usually give you the classic "your service is up to xxmbps, not a guaranteed speed" spiel . Also if you're phoning BT you'll be lucky if the support rep can even speak English Good luck

Zennon
Normaly with ISP congestion slow down you would see a rise in latency (pings) are you seeing a ping increase at all in peak hours?
