Belloni Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Is this going to be improved? I'd more more of a range to suit my needs. Thanks.
Zennon Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I can get wifi out in my garden up the path and out on to the street. You might be on a congested channel. How to check the channels for congestion Here
Belloni Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Sorry should have been more clear. I'm using wifi analyzer and I want to go above 11 channel range as the rest are congested in my area.
Zennon Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Right, one of the developers would need to comment on this .

How to check the channels for congestion Here I know how to change the channel, but last time I must've done something wrong. I had to reset my router... Yeah, that feeling.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted August 4, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted August 4, 2015 I believe the reason that there aren't more wireless channels is partly hardware and partly country regulations. I think 2.4Ghz hardware only allows for 1-14 but the laws of different countries regulate which channels can be used. More information on Wikipedia regarding which countries allow which channels
Zennon Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 My billion router goes to 13 I have had them in the past that go to 14 and there was a disclaimer saying only for use in certain countrys.

So I assume the Netduma and many other routers only go up to 11 to make sure that people in any county can go anywhere in the range without getting into trouble.
Zennon Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 It seems 12, 13, 14 are not aloud in north America unless it is in low powered conditions up to 13 aloud in most of the rest of the world , 14 in japan only under certain modes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 5, 2015 Administrators Posted August 5, 2015 Hey Belloni, the others have explained exactly why we probably won't add any more channels, your best bet is to go with the least congested channel you can
