Hit detection

Recommended Posts

Why would it feel like you get better hit detection when qos and smart boost is disabled? Been going back and forth on this topic for a while with a lot of people but it honestly is so much better when qos is disabled even on the Asus router. Isn’t qos supposed to make things better?
like it is hard to explain and hit detection can still be pretty good with it on but idk and I don’t think it’s placebo either.

Opposite for me with MW3. Although I feel like I have hit reg issues in XDefiant.

Xdefiant has been hit or miss for me so far as well

In theory it shouldn't matter but as we've all seen gaming networking seems to be a different breed. QoS is traffic management so in theory if there isn't much traffic at the time to be managed that could be why

I have 1 gig up and down. So am I understanding this right that if I don’t have a lot of traffic that could ever reach those speeds to cause congestion then qos would just add a tiny bit of delay possibly or something similar?

Its not just me I’ve noticed my sons game playing way better on valorant, watched him drop 36 in a ranked game(he is only silver) but before using qos he only reached silver 1 one season and was performing way worst.

Realistically it shouldn't make any difference, the perceived difference should be minute at best but yes in theory that could be what is happening.

The hit detection is ass on that game I be shooting kids point blank with a shotgun and nothing. It seems to me that the hit detection is based on distance that would be awful and make the game more or less AR dominant from my internal testing. So in short netcode might be bad unless it some sort of bug with overlay character when in close range test it yourself and you’ll see once in a blue if your point blank ur shot won’t register.

There also a Reddit post on this topic so we’re clearly not the only one’s experiencing this issue might be sorted though who knows.

I’m having games like this and depending on how long the game lasts I’m consistent at over a 2kd getting 50-80 kills a game. Seems like it was only that first night it was inconsistent for me ever since then it’s been playing great.

Now the ping thing bugs me on xdefiant I get a low of like 30-32 average but I haven’t seen it go above 40. On other games though my lowest can go to 13.

The ping is a little higher due to the matchmaking Ubisoft is using. It's still low-averages ping. It's the servers Ubisoft are also using. This weekend, should possibly see slightly lower due to more players to match with.

Nah been this way since the playtests. What you are getting right now unless they add more servers somewhere will likely be what you always get on there

Qos is not perfect mode toggle . Qos is queue management. Meaning it will add more process time to the router before sending out data

the main factor is the game’s netcode which we cannot fix in out end

thats why the perfect setup would be no qos with no traffic congestion at all

thats why I invest another internet line for my family. And I play online game dedicatedly with my main isp line.

currently I use asus router tuf ax5400
