Vipeeeer Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 as above, keeps effecting my gameplay, i've tried disabling share excess but even then the same thing is going on, what can i do
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2021 Administrators Posted March 27, 2021 Could you explain how it is resetting exactly?
Vipeeeer Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 so i would enter the inputs for download and upload for my ps5 in the qos section and after every 30 minutes i would see it reset, i rebooted the router and the problem didnt occur but im sure it will come back again will keep you posted but it was very annoying in regards to online gameplay
VVarrior Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Having the same issues on the xr1000 any news on the new firmware for it cause everyday other day i have to reset the xr1000 cause the qos is not working
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 28, 2021 Administrators Posted March 28, 2021 Is that with Bandwidth Allocation? If so make sure you save distribution once you've done so. Also Bandwidth Allocation has two views now - applications / devices, the view may be resetting not necessarily the bandwidth you have set. If you're trying to set bandwidth on both then one will reset. 5 hours ago, VVarrior said: Having the same issues on the xr1000 any news on the new firmware for it cause everyday other day i have to reset the xr1000 cause the qos is not working What do you mean the QoS isn't working exactly?
Vipeeeer Posted March 29, 2021 Author Posted March 29, 2021 that is what has happened as i thought leaving the gaming on low bandwidth or default would keep those bandwidth settings for when i play on the ps5, explains a lot and i just figured this out now while i tried to enter it in again. can this be answered though if i move it up to the highest value would i get those gaming bandwidth inputs?

Moving it up to the highest value will mean that the PS5 is allocated that much bandwidth, however if you have Share excess enabled, any bandwidth that it is not using will be shared out amongst other devices. Gaming doesn't actually need too much bandwidth, so you won't need to crank that allocation up very high.
Vipeeeer Posted March 29, 2021 Author Posted March 29, 2021 im having major issues which i thought would have been resolved with the xr500 update, im having latency drops in my games without fail, i have ports forwarded to my console, and i have traffic prioritisation off can i have some help here even playing on default with no ports forwarded etc my gameplay is appalling and my players just dont move and turn like my opponents, even with geo filter at a distance of 300km my gameplay at 12 ping is beyond appalling and im at my witts end here [DoS Attack: SYN/ACK Scan] from source: 94.231.110.22, port 80, Monday, March 29, 2021 21:36:41 [DumaOS] applying qos for zone lan, Monday, March 29, 2021 21:35:26 [DumaOS] applying qos for zone wan, Monday, March 29, 2021 21:35:23 [DumaOS] config write 'com.netdumasoftware.qos.settings', Monday, March 29, 2021 21:35:22 [DumaOS] Cloudsync DPI result 'nil','failed to sync', Monday, March 29, 2021 21:34:36 [DumaOS] Cloudsync DPI 'skipping mirror', Monday, March 29, 2021 21:34:36 [DumaOS] Cloudsync DPI 'HTTP sync failed', Monday, March 29, 2021 21:34:36 [DumaOS] HTTP download failed with code '404', Monday, March 29, 2021 21:34:36 [DumaOS] The selected theme does not exist: 'default', Monday, March 29, 2021 21:34:33 [DumaOS] Theme path does match manifest 'default', Monday, March 29, 2021 21:34:33 [DumaOS] Cloudsync Themes result 'false','All mirrors are down', Monday, March 29, 2021 21:34:33 [DumaOS] applying qos for zone lan, Monday, March 29, 2021 21:33:23 [DumaOS] applying qos for zone wan, Monday, March 29, 2021 21:33:19 [DumaOS] config write 'com.netdumasoftware.qos.settings', Monday, March 29, 2021 21:33:19 should i be worried about all these errors with cloudsync also on fifa when it comes to friendlies and objectives i cant find a game instead im matched with players with 200ms instead of local players its annoying and a waste of my time looking for these games, with geofilter switched off i can find the games without a problem
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 30, 2021 Administrators Posted March 30, 2021 I would recommend you use Traffic Prioritization enabled as that elevates the gaming traffic above the network queue and therefore will reduce spikes/jitter. Those errors are fine, nothing to worry about. Can you provide a screenshot of your Geo-Filter page please?
Vipeeeer Posted March 30, 2021 Author Posted March 30, 2021 i've switched that back on, geo filter page
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 30, 2021 Administrators Posted March 30, 2021 You're running an older version so I'd suggest upgrading to this https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-DumaOS-3-0/New-Firmware-v2-3-2-120-XR500/td-p/2071196/jump-to/first-unread-message and doing a factory reset after. Are you based in the US trying to get EU servers?

Are you based in the US trying to get EU servers? im based in the eu uk london trying to get those games but i keep on getting located to the us, especially when booting up the game i get put on mexico asian pacific and us servers
Vipeeeer Posted March 30, 2021 Author Posted March 30, 2021 just read the comments on the thread and it looks like the new version has more issues 😕 i paid £230 for this router and it doesnt seem to perform correctly sadly
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 30, 2021 Administrators Posted March 30, 2021 Try this: Quit the game completely to dashboard Remove device from Geo-Filter Re-sync cloud from Geo-Filter Map menu (if you get a too long message, wait 1 minute then refresh the page and it will have applied) Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter Setup the Geo-Filter to cover the server you want and put Ping Assist to 0 Wait 2 minutes Boot up the client/game It's a support forum so you'll only ever see issues reported so I wouldn't let that worry you too much, you can always downgrade if needed.
Vipeeeer Posted March 31, 2021 Author Posted March 31, 2021 just updated firmware, first thing qos error message, device not found? and also traffic prioritisation doesnt load up anymore
Vipeeeer Posted March 31, 2021 Author Posted March 31, 2021 same old problem getting matchmaking in us syria mexico and middle east, even when the filter is up, only after 30 mins ill find someone inside the range, with the geo filter deleted it works fine i just dont understand.. starting to think this has seriously messed up my matchmaking since november in fut champs because of the filter i was still playing dutch and german players on the london server
Netduma Liam Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Have you performed a factory reset since upgrading the firmware? This should resolve the issue you're seeing with QoS and potentially Geo-filter.
Vipeeeer Posted April 1, 2021 Author Posted April 1, 2021 factory reset by holding the button at the back for 30 seconds was done everything set up from scratch error message was still there
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 1, 2021 Administrators Posted April 1, 2021 Someone else who had this issue downgrading to a previous firmware checked whether the error was there or not and if it wasn't re-upgraded and it succeeded in getting rid of the error. Alternatively you could downgrade, factory reset, then re-upgrade.
Vipeeeer Posted April 2, 2021 Author Posted April 2, 2021 right can i have some help on how to downgrade, and now another problem.. cant even connect to servers in the desired field lol
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 2, 2021 Administrators Posted April 2, 2021 Glad to hear you resolved the Geo-Filter issue. Download a previous firmware version and do the downgrade the exact same way as you would when upgrading, upload the file, click update.
Vipeeeer Posted April 2, 2021 Author Posted April 2, 2021 could i have the previous version downgrade link plz as i cannot find it
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 2, 2021 Administrators Posted April 2, 2021 You can find all the versions here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/XR500.aspx#download
Vipeeeer Posted April 2, 2021 Author Posted April 2, 2021 im sorry but im just fed up of this product, it only worked properly for like a month out of the 9 months i've had this, never ending issues, qos is still messed up error device not found again. everything has been done as suggested. its simply pathetic how the geo filter cant do things properly, but works fine when it is switched off, now i cant prioritise my console traffic because of the qos issue, seriously £230 spent just to go through this nonsense? i should have had a functioning product but its been nothing but faulty ever since i've had it..
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 2, 2021 Administrators Posted April 2, 2021 It is a beta, you don't have to use it, you can go back to the normal firmware and it should be more stable for you, we'll fix the bugs in the beta but it does take time
