rjaaayyy Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 I keep getting party encountered error on Xbox, sometimes I can fix it for a day or 2. Then when I play cod and try to join randoms, it will boot me and say party encountered error either right away, or a bit later. I’ve tried everything Xbox support said.. so I’m kinda running out of options.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 30, 2021 Administrators Posted January 30, 2021 You need to add your friends or anyone to your allow list that you want to invite to a party chat and then they will no longer be blocked by your Geo-Filter and you can connect to them regardless of your settings.
rjaaayyy Posted February 9, 2021 Author Posted February 9, 2021 it hasnt mattered, even if im in party with friends who are allowed, it will happen, then when i play with randoms and squad up, i put it to spectate and still allow but i still get it often enough to be a pest. I already talked to xbox suppport and done every step, no resolve and they said talk to ISP they did some resetting. So router techs only people left haha.

rjaaayyy Posted February 11, 2021 Author Posted February 11, 2021 nat type open on xbox and in game. I have xr500 nighthawk router connected with ethernet to the xbox about 3ft away.

rjaaayyy Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 yes i do, ISP said everything was okay on their end and updated my IP. Xbox also gave me every single step and no permanent fix.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 12, 2021 Administrators Posted February 12, 2021 If it doesn't work direct to the modem then there isn't really anything the router can do to fix that. It could be worth trying a VPN to a local server to bypass the ISP routing and see if that works.

rjaaayyy Posted February 16, 2021 Author Posted February 16, 2021 idk, i tried it again i disabled upnp and i think i port forwarded the right ports and linked them to the IP of the xbox. going to test tonight and see if problem happens again.

Are the people you're trying to talk to all on the same platform or are some on a PC for example?
