Lewisprotips
I seem to be getting around 3 disconnects a day since getting the nighthawk xr500. Anyone else suffering this?
Netduma Liam
Sorry to hear that! What firmware version are you currently running? Are all devices experiencing the drops (both wired and wireless)? Are you able to access the interface of the XR500 when the drop occurs?
Lewisprotips
I've using the 3.0 os. Yeah all devices. Sometimes it drops but still has a connection as I've noticed when I stream the the stream restarts but keeps me in the game but this thisnt every time. I'm unsure if I still have access as its very intermittent. But our sky box really struggles with the disconnections.

Lewisprotips
I'm using the 3.0 beta i get a screenshot of the screenshot shortly but it does show my iP address is that correct?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 30, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2021 Which firmware version? It will show the WAN IP of the router - if you're using a pure modem (no wifi) then it will show your public IP, if you're using a modem/router (wifi) then it will show a local IP and I'd like to see that please. Captain Pickles
I have the same issues. I’ll be in the middle of giving a work presentation and the router disconnects and just stops working. I had an xr500 so I figured it was just a bad router. Bought the xr1000 and guess what, freezes again during a game of warzone and I had to reset again.. for the 50th time this week. It’s starting to get annoying.
Captain Pickles
It’s literally a brand new router with the latest firmware. 1.0.0.52_1.0.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 31, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 31, 2021 Netgear are actually fixing it at the moment and recently released an XR500 beta build that should help with it so I think this will come to the 1000 fairly quickly once its been confirmed. Do you know if you have a static or dynamic public IP?
Captain Pickles
It’s currently set on dynamic
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 31, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 31, 2021 That could be it then, how often would you say the issue is happening, once a day or more?

Netgear are looking into that but it isn't a quick fix so I don't have a timeframe for that. 27 minutes ago, Captain Pickles said: It’s really sporadic sometimes it’s multiple times a day sometimes it doesnt happen. Captain Pickles
I don’t know how to do that. For 350$ you’d think it would just work.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 1, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 1, 2021 Go to Settings > LAN Setup, click add then just click a device from the table and click add again, just do that for each and see if it helps. Captain Pickles
It didn’t work. I’ve reset the router 3 times this morning already. Quite honestly it’s getting to the point that it’s not even worth having this thing.
