Geofilterr issue/Beta 3.0

Nikki

Recommended Posts

Hello Netduma support,

I'm a call of duty player (warzone/cold war) on PS4 . I have just bought the xr500 and I have an issue with the geofiltering. When my friends join the lobby I'm able to see on the geolfiltering the related icon with the connection details. However, during the matchmaking the icons of other players connected to the lobby did not appears on the geofiltering. In attachment the details of the current geofilter setting.

 Could you help me?

In addition, how can I get the Dumaos 3.0?

Thanks in advance for your support and availability.

Thanks

Hey Nikki,

Welcome to the forum!

It's possible that Geo-filter is not seeing the other players as their information is coming to you through a dedicated server, not a peer-to-peer connection, this would just be by design of the CoD servers and not something the XR500 could get around.

If you're looking for Beta 3.0 for the XR500, you can find the link to the open beta here:

Hello Liam,

thank you for the support. So it is normal that i'm able to see only my teammates?

May I ask you another information? I set the geofilter, but I don't find games in warzone. Could you help me?

Thanks

No problem at all, yes, because you are not connecting directly to these players individually, you are just all connecting to the same server.

Sure thing, how have you setup your Geo-filter? Are you using a radius, or polygon mode? Feel free to share a screenshot if it's easier. Please take this screenshot when you actively searching for a game.

Hello Liam,

sorry for the delay, here in attachment the print screen. I have found a game but the ping in the lobby is really high with 750km (60ms). I saw on inteternet that a call of duty server for warzone is in Italy (Rome and Milan I supposed).

Thanks for the support Liam!

Where are you measuring the ping exactly - is that what the Geo-Filter shows or what the in game ping shows? Are you pinging the server icon? Enable Auto Ping in the Geo-Filter Map options and you will see the ping appear automatically at the bottom of the page.

Hello Fraser ,

thanks for the reply. I have measured the ping in game. As you can see the Italian server are not available and I don’t know the reason why. If I reduce to 600km I’m not able to find a game, is that normal?

Ok, I will flagged the Autoping in the geofilter.

Thanks

I'm not sure why you can't find a game within 600km, unless the Italy servers you mentioned are full/down for maintenance.

It may be that the server is miscategorised? Have you tried removing the radius and searching for a game using ping assist alone(set to around 40ms)?

Let us know the results of pinging the server you can get to!

I supposed that the italian server are down, because the server available are on the north of the France ,Poland and Germany. I have also noted that the nat type in CoD is resitrected and I don't know why.. I have opened all the required ports and set the DMZ with the static playstation IP. I have also try with the ping assits. The ping in game was still 60/70ms but the autoping said 19ms/20ms. On which indicator the information is more reliable?

Thanks for the support

What does it say exactly for NAT - moderate or restricted on the game? What does the console NAT type say in Network Settings?

Where did the host appear on the map that Ping Assist had caught?

They're both correct - the Geo-Filter shows the ping direct to the server. The in game ping adds things like processing delay etc, the in game ping can help to determine whether the server may be under load. The Geo-Filter ping is the one you can influence with QoS etc.

I have solved the point related to Nat. I have changed the DNS inputing the Google server. Now in game and in cod is moderate.

The host appears in Germany. Today I have played again a few games in Italian server then the server probably goes down and I was linked with German host.

Thanks fro the support.

Ok, thank you! Just another information. With the new COD - Cold War update, if I search the game in "filering mode" and "Strict mode" I have many issue in searching the game (attached). Once I put the before mentioned parameters, in the game these following issue occured "not able to enter in to the lobby".

I really don't know if it is a wrong setup from my side or related to the game. Can you help me?

Thanks

When you see that message appear do you see anything blocked on the Geo-Filter at all? If so, allow it, does that then fix it?

Hi Fraser,

what do you me with openVPN configuration?I’m not very skilled on the topic. I’m really sorry about that! Where I can find it?

To use the VPN you have to put in the OpenVPN configuration file - if you didn't do this that is why it didn't work. You can get this from the VPN provider

You will need to look on your VPN provider website for OpenVPN configuration files, it may be in a download section. If not you will need to contact them to get it. Once you've got them reply back and I can walk you through it.

Can you upload the folder here please so I can have a look, then tell me what server you want to connect to. I will then make the contents that you can copy and paste into Hybrid VPN to make it work.

Here the attachment. I have no idea about the server, I will use it for the console and I don't know which one is the best. How can I copy and paste on Hybrid VPN?

What is the purpose of using the VPN? I just went for Italy, go to Hybrid VPN, go to setup, advanced then enter your VPN username/password in and paste this into the configuration box
