PACKET LOSS FORTNITE PC

Hello, I've been getting 2/3% packet loss in Fortnite pc, my ping is good 30ms and there is no spikes, is just the packet loss that don't let me place some buildings or sometimes I'm not able to edit, this issue seems to appear more on creative games but also on normal game modes. I have the xr500, 300/300mb and my setup is this: isp router----xr500---ethernet to gaming pc. I have 70/70 anti-bufferbloat and traffic prioritization with dumaOS classified games enabled and also my pc with games console service. What can I do to fix this, because is really frustating. Thanks in advanced.

Sounds like you've got it setup optimally as that's a good ping, however I wouldn't use the games console service for the PC as it could be prioritizing other things and could potentially cause that issue. Recommend you use the advanced section to add the ports that the game uses - leave the source ports as they are, just change the destination ports. May just be the servers, I assume you're selecting the correct region from the game menu?

I removed game console service and still having download packet loss but now is 1%. I have the server on europe, using also geo-filter to always connect me to Paris server being the nearest for me as I live in Spain.

But Is very laggy :( I can't play smooth :(  

edit: now I just received ping spikes from 25ms to 65ms and packets loss.

You need to check first to see if your connection is having these issues, follow this guide with the modem: http://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000074717-diagnose-modem-internet-service-provider-issues then after that if there are no spikes/packet loss then do it with the router and saturate the connection while testing different percentages and find what works best for you.

But I don't have any type of disconnection issues, Do I install the firmware anyways? Also, if I install this version of the firmware, will it fix the packet loss problem?

Oh right, on one of the graphs it looked like you were dropping out but I guess it was just excessive packet loss.

Usually i'd recommend lowering the sliders if packet loss is occuring when your connection is busy.

Which percentage do you recommend me? I have 300/300Mb

Well really what you want to do is start pingplotter, flood your connection (HD videos, downloads, so on) and then take the sliders down about 10% at a time until your ping looks stable in pingplotter.

I made this tests:

40/40 looks like the best out of that selection. I would also try 70/70, 80/80 etc. When you find a good one go up by 10 if it's bad then go down/up 5 between the good and bad result to really narrow it down.

I tried a lot of sliders adjustments but I think the problem is when someone is downloading something when I do pingplotter tests while downloading games for example, there is plenty of spikes, I tried also dslreports and there is always a ping spike when downloading. What can I try?

-I did these tests with 40/40 slider( I think this is the best slider for me) while downloading a game and watching several streams at 1080p60fps.

-About traffic not prioritized, the traffic table looks like that while doing the pingplotter.

Ok, but I still can't play any game on creative mode with my friends because of the 2% packet loss on download and a red line appearing on the ping graphic of fortnite and is very frustrating.

Have you tried using WiFi when playing? If you don't get any packet loss that way then could indicate a problem with the ethernet cable, if you still get the same then it is likely the game server itself. Do you get the packet loss all the time or is it most prevalent in peak time?

My gaming pc doesn't have a network card, otherwise my ethernet cable are cat7 and  almost new. I get packet loss almost all the time.

Hmm...

What if you were to put a bootable version of Ubuntu on a USB stick and then test the internet connection when booted off that?

I'm just wondering if there's something on the operating system level causing a problem.

Or what about taking the cable out of the computer and putting it into another device and testing there?
