Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 30, 2019 Administrators Share Posted June 30, 2019 Hey, welcome to the forum! What is your physical setup? Do you know if you require PPPoE?
aleric204
Sorry for the delay account login issues. running on A home network with one desktop computer wired via ethernet.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 30, 2019 Administrators Share Posted June 30, 2019 Could you be more specific please? What ISP are you with? Is your setup modem > router > R1 for example - what is the model of your modem/router? If you're using another router is that connected to the modem and are devices connecting to that etc. PPPoE are login details required for an internet connection, do you know if you need this? Administrators Netduma Alex Posted July 1, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 1, 2019 I was reading online about this modem. If it's an ISP provided modem you might need to phone them to make sure they are allowing your device.
aleric204
It was working fine for around A month of use and then it just stopped working. I spoke to them and they said the issue was the router not working hence why Im trying to figure it out on here. Netduma Alex
Administrators Netduma Alex Posted July 2, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 2, 2019 Oh right... And you're definitely connected using DHCP rather than a Static IP? The modem should recognise the router and give it an IP address.
aleric204
Yes it's DHCPÂ
Administrators Netduma Alex Posted July 3, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 3, 2019 Did you change the modem settings from default? Was it set up by your ISP? I wonder if the IP that was assigned to the R1 was changed? But then I would assume it would be fixed by turning off both devices, and then starting up the modem, then the R1. aleric204
I never changed the modem settings. if you're talking about A tech coming out and installing the hardware then no. if you are talking about settings being altered by A tech than also no
Administrators Netduma Alex Posted July 4, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 4, 2019 Can you access the UI of your modem? What's your computer's IP address? Also, what version of our software are you running on your router? Sorry about all of the questions, i'm just trying to narrow this thing down! aleric204
no, I have never had access to the modems UI. im using the latest dumaos firmware and my computers ipv4 address is 24.250.18.250 I currently don't have it connected since I can't get any internet connection with it connected to my modem

Administrators Netduma Alex Posted July 5, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 5, 2019 Could you connect to your Netduma R1 and under LAN Settings, make sure that DHCP is turned on. Also make sure that the router's IP address is 192.168.88.1. You may want to connect to the R1 without actually connecting the R1 to your modem, for the time being, just to make sure it's set up correctly. When you connect to the R1 without the modem involved, what's your IP address at that point?
aleric204
I'm sorry for the delay had A very busy day yesterday. So DHCP is enabled and the IP address is set correctly in the LAN settings. Also, the IP address doesn't change whether I have the modem+router both connected or just with the router.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 6, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 6, 2019 Do you have a WAN IP address on the Device Manager when connected to the modem? I've also moved this to the DumaOS support forum as it is more relevant there.
aleric204
This is what the layout looks like in my device manager. The only tab I can click on is my desktop.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 6, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 6, 2019 Sorry I meant on the System Information page. Was there anything that changed with your setup or settings prior to this occurring?
aleric204
I gotta double check the system information page, but nothing was changed with my setup or settings.
aleric204
I'm not seeing a wan IP address in system information. I'm getting a consistent kill flow due to timeout error though.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 6, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 6, 2019 Unplug the router from the modem then reboot the modem, then after a few minutes connect the router and check for a connection, if nothing reboot the router from the interface and see if it works then. aleric204
I tried both methods neither worked. On the reboot from interface the internet went out and then back to error on windows.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 7, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 7, 2019 What is the error you're getting on Windows? There really shouldn't be an issue here as it is a simple modem, access the modem and go to configuration, then do a factory reset, make sure the router is plugged into it when this happens and once the modem has factory reset then reboot the router.
