NAT type on moderate

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I have purchased the R1 router and everything has been going fine. The only problem that I have is that my connection is on moderate, I have had a look through a couple of guides and I've had no luck with it.

Does anyone else have any information?

Hi Digryder, welcome to the forums!

Have you looked through this guide? When you test your NAT, make sure that the GeoFilter is disabled - also restart the console after applying the changes in the link :)

Can you take a screen shot of the DMZ page on the other router :)

Can you also make sure UPnP is enabled in Settings >> UPnP.

No it isn't in modem mode but i have enabled upnp

If you put it in modem mode you should have an open NAT straight away. Did you also check that UPnP was enabled in Settings >> UPnP? If you don't want to put the Virgin huub in modem mode can you take a screen shot of the DMZ on the virgin hub :)

What affects does it have putting it on modem mode

Is that the Netduma's WAN Address which can be found by going to Device manager? Putting it in modem mode just means there is no routing so only one of the ports will work on it. You would plug the Netduma into this one :)

If you only have the Netduma plugged in then you would be fine to enable modem mode.

Alternatively you could enter the Netduma WAN IP into the DMZ. So as you said, you would need to put the last digits after the WAN IP into the DMZ. Then if you restart the console and disable the GeoFilter you should have an open NAT.

I don't need the 5 gh wifi either, so do you recommend modem mode? As the netduma is the only thing plugged into my superhub

hm ok you have 2 options first is to do what i did witch is

Superhub is a combo of modem and router in one it is basic equipment, in my case i dont need the 5 gh wifi and 2.4 is way more then enough. so what i did is set it up in to modem mode so ist just a modem sort of getaway to internet and form there i connected it to R1 router so that R1 is my router and therefore my super hub is a modem. I then connect all the devices phone laptop tv via wifi to R1 and wired connected my ps4.

Wall-------SuperHub in Modem Mode------- Net Duma R1 router--------- all the devices that use internet at my household

the second option you have is to Keep the superHub as a router and connect R1 to it just as advice and then like corssy sad put that wan adress in DZM as R1 have its own firewall so therefore you dont have to be worried about this beening not guarded. The reason for this setup its mostly because people want to keep higher speeds that 5hg wifi can offer, or just simply because they are using different features provided by different router. also some people run crazy bandwidth wise connections like 300mb etc so as for now R1 does not support such speeds there fore people chose not to keep R1 as a primary route. But in a very near future this litle whit box will be able to handle up to 900mg i think so ist just around the corner as the duma team is working ona upgrade. so really the choice is yours to make
