Your refresh rate will stlll max out at 60hz, and I'm pretty sure you can only have 1080p for resolution. I want to have my pc running through hdmi and my ps4 through dvi. You mentioned it may give better results it will just be the same as your HDMI to HDMI @ 1080P 60Hz with no audio but you wont need that anyhow. It's quite the hassle. I'm dealing with a similar one. My monitor has 1 display port and 1 HDMI. I have the console on the HDMI, but my PC and my work laptop both use display port. They don't make a Display port splitter which goes past 60hz refresh reliably. I either have to swap cables every time or have 60hz refresh when I'm gaming on the PC.
