Hi - did you try out Big Dogs suggestion? What has happened since? Please let us know and we'll advise you from there :)

No didn’t try Big Dogs suggestion. I looked on netgear support page and read that you were not supposed to update using the button in the top right hand corner of the interface as Fraser said above. Would have been great to get a message or warning on the interface before. Because I don’t look on netgear support page daily. Now I have to go through these steps to get it back going again hopefully. https://kb.netgear.com/22688/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP

*Note to everyone do not upgrade using the button in the top right hand corner of the interface

i just update using the 'settings'  'admin' firmware update...   (1st time i checked the internet..found it.. updated ok..took a minute or so to upload and reboot...

2nd time..  I downloaded the firmware .. browsed for it.... and uploaded that.. took the same... both worked.

That should resolve the issue, couldn't get a notifcation on the router to not do that unfortunately. Fortunately it's fixed in the version you're upgrading to so won't be an issue again for future firmwares

You set the static IP address on your pc. The instructions to set a static IP address are show on step 3. https://kb.netgear.com/22688/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP

I've sent you a PM Dluna with instructions to follow.

Also the Netgear guide gives you screenshots on how to set up the static IP on your device.
