Why never pull power cord for R1

In a recent post Jack advised not to pull power on the R1. How come as I turn my power bar off with all my gaming devices , includong R1 , every night before i head to lala land.

I don't mean this in a strict way - it won't damage the router / cause major issues. We often advise against unplugging the router since it can wipe the settings on the Netduma - and when people are asking about their settings being wiped and what they can do about it, that's when we tell folks to avoid unplugging it.

 

If you do this every night I'd actually recommend you don't - the router is okay to be left on overnight. You could reboot it from settings > Miscellaneous every week or so to maintain the router, though unplugging it every night might cause issues over time.
