LegendMask
Hi, since I got FIFA 18 Im having trouble finding players on FUT Seasons, but other than that I can find easily games on Weekend League and pro clubs, but once I try to play seasons (peer 2 peer) connections then my router will just keep trying to connect me to people from Europe or Asia. Im sure there are plenty if not thousands who play FIFA 18 FUT seasons in North America. So any idea what is going on? Thanks in advance
inkedcurtis
I had this exact same problem but was for every game mode on every game, only way I could fix was by assigning the default profile again (Gaming) & then updating my Geo-Filters back to how I wanted them

Try the suggestion above - it's odd that the game would try to connect you only to Europe since I believe Fifa uses localised servers. If you set Ping Assit at 0ms, do you still get these issues? Do you have an open NAT in-game and on the console?

Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted December 12, 2017 Netduma Staff Share Posted December 12, 2017 Tried the settings and I do get after searching multiple times a game in NA region but its a very bad connection (1 bar) with very high pings. NAT are open Make sure Auto Cloud and Bleeding Edge are ticked. This does seem like an issue with the game though - the Netduma shouldn't cause a problem of this nature. If you cannot connect to players in North America (and you do indeed live in North America) then either nobody is playing (which isn't the case) or the game netcode is not functioning properly for you. If you disable the Geo-Filter, what is your in-game ping? Does it still connect you to Europe / Asia? How about with the Netduma removed from your setup? Mackam
I have same issue Weekend League is fine as its dedicated servers but P2P Seasons doesnt work. I got a work around if you go into settings and misc the soft reboot router then match make it works. Very annoying but works around but cant do it if kids are using internet. Next day its back not working so need to do it again My post here with same issue http://forum.netduma.com/topic/22901-am-i-doing-something-daft-p2p-connection-not-working/
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 13, 2017 Administrators Share Posted December 13, 2017 You shouldn't have to reboot to do that. Put your ping assist to 0, does that help?
LegendMask
@Mackam I tried that and it failed @ Fraser I did put it on 0 and tried both on strick mode ticked and unticked as well and didnt work. Other notes and thing I tried: - Tried connecting my console to modem directly and it worked with great connection - My pc is connected to Netduma R1 and noticed torrent doesnt seed or download as well (dont know if it helps or not) - Hard reset all devices

You can disable the Geo-Filter by unticking 'enable' under the device you have added (at the top of the Host Filtering page). It sounds like this game mode won't see any benefit from using the Geo-Filter. Not all games require the Geo-Filter, and some have a strange (and in my opinion, nonsensical) server setup like Fifa. I'd recommend disabling the Geo-Filter and using the Congestion Control features to mitigate locally caused lag as much as possible.

After thinking about it, I doubt disabling the Geo-Filter would solve the issue but will give it a try, the reason Im saying this is because when Im using P2P connection on my PC which is not on the list of devices on Netduma control Geo-Filter, it doesnt work example on torrents. I will give it a factory reset a shot and see how it goes, or even better do a factory reset and connect the Netduma to my modem's WAN port

Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted December 16, 2017 Netduma Staff Share Posted December 16, 2017 Just disabled the Geo-Filter as per your instruction and I started finding games but so far all of them were in Europe or South America This is a case we've struggled with for a while. The reason this is happening is that Fifa simply doesn't have enough servers - and their net coding seems to connect you to any server no matter how far away it is. FUT has been plagued by these issues for years. Without the Geo-Filter enabled, the Netduma is acting like a standard router. You can see where the game tries to connect you without any filtering. Unfortunately the Geo-Filter can only secure you low-ping games and good servers if the game actually has them. If the game servers are lacking then you will struggle. You will still be able to force a server by placing your radius over its location with Strict Mode on and Ping Assist at 0ms.
