Netduma won't work (installation)

I hooked up the netduma to my Quantam Router. I have Verizon Fios as my internet provider. I installed the netduma and followed the tutorial. My devices were able to connect to the netduma but i could not use the internet. not sure if it has anything to do with it but When I was in the settings it said "wan ip:" and nothing was there.

Power cycle the Netduma and see if it works

Edit: I've had this issue sometimes when it first powers on it doesn't get a WAN IP and a simple power cycle fixes it.

Setting a static wan ip on the R1 seemed to fix the issue by the way

Hi s1rtoast, welcome to the forums :)

As Maz said, try restarting the Netduma. Also try restarting the Quantam router, leaving 30 seconds before you turn the Netduma back on after turning on the Quantam :)

Might find some helpful tips HERE

Did you get it working?

I restarted the netduma and verizon router and it still doesn't work. I was not able to go into my verizon router itself and look into that

In the device manager, is there a number after 'WAN IP'?

There is no number after wan ip. Also when I go to the main page on the netduma management it says things like unable to load external resources and unable to resolve the servers DNS address

You are getting those errors because there is  no internet connection to the Netduma.

Can you follow these steps:

  1. Switch off both routers.
  2. Wait 40 seconds.
  3. Switch on Quantum.
  4. Wait 40 seconds.
  5. Switch on Netduma.
  6. Wait 40 seconds.
  7. Try and access the internet through the Netduma.

Let us know if that works. If it doesn't can you check again and see if there is a number after 'WAN IP' in the device manager.

Can you login to the Quantum or did you say you were having issues with that?

When I try to login in the router (myfiosgateway) it says I'm not authorized or something like that. But my internet works fine anyway

Ok. Could you try a different port and/or ethernet cable and then follow the steps I listed above again please.

Also, is the Quantum connected to another modem? If it is can you tell me the make of the modem as you may be able to connect directly to that  :)

the quantam router is the router/modem, its the only modem there is

Ok. Can you try a different port on the Quantum and different ethernet cable if you have one :)

Do you need logging details for fios sorry i do not know US broadband to well , if you dont you could put it in bridge mode and just use it as a modem if that is possibe.

Edit : just been reading you have to ring fios and they turn on bridge mode

Nothing yet, pretty busy with school. Not really happy, was told the netduma was plug and play. Never would have bought it if I knew it would be this complicated

It has been plug n play for most people Elusion. If you follow the steps in the guide, there aren't many you should be good to go.

Can you plug your PC by wire into your existing router(Quantum)? If so then plug the same wire into the same port on the quantum and plug the other end into port 1 of the Netduma. Then switch off the quantum & the netduma. Turn on the Quantum and wait 30s then turn on the Netduma.

After that you can connect to Netduma via wire or PC and you should absolutely have Internet.

Bridge mode on your modem? You probably want to turn everything off then on again. That typically fixes any issues when changing modem settings.

This is just the default location :) You can change it by clicking the home button, then clicking where you live and it will set the GeoFilter to your home, not Australia :)
