There has been a fault their end and they have fixed it as seen by it returning to normal.

 

If it happened every night then it would likely be congestion.

According to Comcast 200ms is perfectly acceptable for internet service.

This happened to me just a couple of weeks in to joining BT 

 

My ping went up to 79ms and dropped to 40\10

 

Right before my holiday i was booking a engineer at the airport lol but it was resolved when i got back and had to cancel the engineer

 

Hope they fix it quickly for you....

seems to be ok today, getting 28/4.5 line is only capable of 32/10 so not to bad.

when it was going crazy I was getting 40.00K down and 28k up. I wondered why the stream had gone to shit.lol

On the plus side it might make IW fun to play! Flat line 7ms to the UK server on Infinity is AWFUL. Be one of those red hexagon skipping wizards and watch your blood pressure drop LOL
