NetDuma R1 and Infinite Warfare, need help.

I have been a COD player since Black ops 1. i noticed Advanced Warfare was the first COD where they made the lag compensation engine backwards and catered to the player with the slowest/worst connection instead of the player with the high bandwidth to support the whole lobby. I think of my self as a good player with stats to back it up in very COD. So first let me start off with the netduma r1 is a awesome device, i was starting to hate black ops 3. After i dialed in the R1, no lag, perfect hit detection. dropping nukes every other game. The R1 does not improve skill but it does fix lag. bo3 was kinda crappy for me before the r1. would have to struggle to drop a nuke. after the r1 was dialed in it was straight pub stomping even harder.

Now with IW it feels like there is something in the coding that just makes using a netduma unplayable. i have tried all kinds of different options and the game is just extremely bad on my end. And if i play in a party with 3 people or more it turns into complete

I have Fios 150/150. Because of Infinity ward taking the mw3 lag compression engine and reversing it like aw and bo3 to cater to the player with the worst connection i went from the extreme of throttling down my connection to less then 1mb up and 1mb down and a moderate nat type for my xbox one elite. im posting pictures of the current settings that seem to work the best so far

so like i mentioned this is the best settings i found so far but its hit or miss on the connection. it really feels like there is something in the coding for IW that makes the game lag even harder if you are using a netduma router. I have upnp disabled and i have all the right ports port forwarded for open nat type. i even deleted all the port forwarding to go back to moderate nat type to see if that makes a difference and when playing in a party bigger then 3 its a better connection with moderate then open

hopefully someone can help, thanks in advanced

If you're port forwarding I would definitely set a static IP to the console via DHCP lease.

No need to give the Xbox 1% I'd just reset it.

What is the typical ping to a game? You seem to have a weird method of getting a game. Your radius is incredibly small so would recommend raising that.

I set my Xbox one elite to a static ip 192.168.88.202. What does the apply button do in the dhcp release section?

If it's not at 1% it feels like the other team just runs circles around me.

How do you check ping in game? Is the game lagging cause of my Xbox one having a latency of 34? The the size of the circle is from the cod ultimate profile. Should I not use it? Should I leave it in the middle of the ocean like in the first pic? I live in downtown Los Angeles. If I do a factory reset the home pin is in the Washington and Seattle area which is about 1500 miles away from me. Should I leave it there?

Do you mean you did that on the console itself? As I can't see it in your DHCP Lease screenshot. Click "Reserve" and type in 202, then click apply to save the settings.

Sounds like you've got the Device Prio set up how you like it. You can check the ping in a game by clicking on the host circle on the Geofilter map; or have auto-ping ticked. The latency of 34ms isn't the game ping; that reading will be for something like the Xbox server. The CoD Ultimate profile has your home location in the ocean because it doesn't rely on the "distance" slider, rather it connects you anywhere in the world via the Ping Assist feature. You can move it, but it would only be useful if you increased the radius to about 1000km.

i set the static ip on the xbox i also set the 202 in the dhcp lease clicked reserve and apply

i also opened up the circle a little bigger like fraser recommended

he also said that ( No need to give the Xbox 1% I'd just reset it. ) So i tried this. reset everything back to full throttle but left both bars at 70% but the game turned into complete crap. I would put about 4 to 5 rounds into a enemy and he would still have time to straight melt me lol pretty frustrating.

I don't know how accurate this is or if its even right but here is a pic of what i hope in game ping is?

i noticed there is a quality bar? what does this actually make better or worse i tried playing with it i didnt see much difference

how do you know which is is the game host, there's a bunch of red circles on the map lol sorry

Okay leave the device prioritisation as you had it if that plays the best for you.

Yes that is the in game ping as shown by the duma. The quality bar is for adding to the deny/allow list - it has no bearing on your connection.

It looks like the duma is doing it's job, you have a fantastic ping! You will not get better than that.

I would agree with Fraser I'm jealous of your speeds and your Ping.

If you want to dig deeper download ping plotter and run it at peak times and off times and compare the graphs and see what you come up with. But to me it looks pretty sweet.

Since I have the congestion control/ Anti-flood download and upload cap set to 70% and the device prioritisation set to 1% should I change the algorithm from reactive to preemptive and enable back deep packet processing?

K. Thank you for your help. Has any I need else mentioned IW lagging a player more with a netduma? I'm at the point of ordering another isp to see if it changes anything. I read a couple different places for best connection is to have actual bandwidth under 30mb?

It's impossible for a player of IW to encounter more lag specifically because they're using a Netduma; since the Netduma is the only router capable of getting you a closer host, there's no reason for that to be the case. Infinite Warfare doesn't seem to have great net-coding though. And since games use less than 1mb of your bandwidth, having specific amounts of bandwidth doesn't really make a difference unless it's super low.

its not the Neduma, its CODIW trust me. Also why have you set your speeds to 100mbs DL & 150mbs UL? as its clear you only have 95 up an down??

You will get games where it is just flat out laggy, its easy to spot ths as if someone kills you, then you view the kill cam, you can see how delayed it is by notcing what you saw and what happened are very different.

Just do what I do and leave the game.

Also i would download Ping Plotter, as I did this and found some bad results. also I ended up contact my ISP who are now sending out an engineer.

A new ISP in some cases can make a huge difference, especially if you have cable which was my situation. That ISP has some issues with node overload (as lots of cable does as it's over sold in areas) and I switched to a dedicated gaming line of ADSL and it is night and day difference.

Agin this is my experience and you milage may vary. But as said above download and run ping plotter and run it (not just for 5 minutes, let it run for awhile) at peak hours on a quiet network and see what the results are.

I have FIOs as well, I have my R1 as my main router, consoles off of that and my FIOs router off my airport after my R1, the FIOs router is only there for the TV guide anyways. Since IW I can't get a good game, tried EVERYTHING, even SIM's new congestion setting ideas with NOTHING for me. still being shot before I see the guy and in the kill cam the player is a lagging mess?!? It'll show me pinging 5-13 at times off the NJ server but the games connection is HORRIBLE, go figure. It's not the R1, it's the game. I hope the NEW OS comes out soon to band aid this game that much more for the people that like playing COD still.
