KYZA-SOZAY82
My congestion control doesn't seem to be working,I've only got 4 things connected to my netduma,ps4,blackberry,sony tv,and my laptop,i put my laptop at 100% when just using that and the same when only using ps4 but keep checking ps4 test network to see if it makes any difference but the figures are always the same,i've tried preemptive and reative but still no change. I've also done it for upload and download and pressed the update distribution button,it says settings applied successfully but it seems to be doing nothing. Its burning my brain out,any suggestions. Please
Macca65
The PS4 testing is very unreliable and should not be used to determine download speed. When you put your bandwith in the and tick auto update that should be ok. If you want to check your speeds then use a proper speed test site like Okla, or DSL
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 24, 2016 Administrators Share Posted November 24, 2016 As above ^ Also it sounds like you may have devices that are not connected to the R1 and instead perhaps your ISP hub? If that is the case then congestion control will not work correctly as all devices need to be connected to the duma. You also have share excess enabled which means if a device isn't using much bandwidth then the other devices can use it. I would recommend just resetting device prio and use anti-flood to prevent any local congestion. As long as you have full speeds through a wired PC that is the most important thing. That will be due to share excess on. When devices aren't using up all the bandwidth they've been allocated then it will share it out amongst the other devices that need it. also what percentage should i have them set at,its currently set at 70% but when i'm gaming on my ps4 i want the best settings for it so i don't lag. also preemptive or reactive??. its all confusing to me. I would leave device prio reset and have anti-flood on 70/70, that will prevent any local congestion. Preemptive or Reactive can be your personal decision what ever works best for you. However, based on speeds Preemptive = below 60mbps. Reactive = 60mbps + Also have your console in hyper traffic when you're gaming. Disable it when watching YouTube on the console as it's only meant for low latency traffic.
