Titanfall 2 Support

Recommended Posts

  • Administrators

We have ordered Titanfall 2 and it should be arriving this week for us to test it.

Whilst we wait please let me know your experience of the game with the Geo-filter.

  • Does it work?
  • Does it appear to be dedicated servers?
  • Can you pick servers on the game itself? etc

Anything you can add will be very helpful so we can try and support it as fast as possible.

The in game ping and the R1's ping differ by about 15ms  My base ping on the R1 is usually somewhere between 12-15 ms and in game ping in usually around 28 - 32ms.  I haven't checked the difference in a party yet, but I will tonight. All dedicated servers on XB for sure and PS as far as I understand.  You can choose your servers if you want on the screen that Sgt-Greco shared above.

Matchmaking is set up differently than other MP games I've played.  The matchmaker changes the players in the lobby every game based on performance/skill level.  Beast's will be taken out of the lobbies they are in and placed in more difficult matches, just as newer players will be grouped with each other.  It seems like this system is fair, but may force us to stay on our toes when we're using the Geofilter as the servers will change frequently.

Ok interesting, thank you very much! Even though it shows in the US is the ping consistent on the duma with what the game says it should be?

yes, the ping is consistent, the game runs smoothly and the deviation between the in-game ping meter and netduma readings is pretty close. (in game ping number = r1 + 30ms approx)

Titanfall 2 has been tested as of yesterday; it seems you have to replicate what you choose in game with the Geofilter. For example, choosing the London server would mean you need to ensure that server is within the Geofilter radius. All in all though, games where the server is chosen in-game don't utilise the Geofilter very well; it's more useful for finding out more about the server than getting you a good connection.

I think Fraser's going to publish the results at some point, and he'll be doing a cloud update probably today or over the weekend to whitelist certain Titanfall 2 servers.
