@RavenSoftware Are Listening With Modern Warfare Remastered But We Hope It's For The Right Reasons!

Seems to me they're concentrating on all the wrong shit with the game.I would take smooth gameplay and connections over the way a gun sounds or what medals are available.

IMO people are gonna be disappointed with the game as I believe the reason it ran so good during it's life cycle was everyone pretty much had the same internet,shitty but equal, one person didn't have fiber gig and they others had 56 k.

And were still gonna get into shitty lobbies with 2 bar players from across the country whose shitty McDonalds wifi will kill the lobby.And that didn't happen very much back then, the game had it's issues but not like the ones were seeing with todays titles.

My only real concern is that it will be on dedicated servers and that if they implement it like BO3, with one bank of dedis for Xbox One in Ireland, then the current issues will persist and I will do angry hard poops that hurt my bum.

People will say it's nostalgia but it's not...

Local P2P connections, 2+ years after launch, on CoD4, MW2 and MW3, was much more consistent and A LOT more fun than playing against the mish-mash connections from all over Europe on dedis. We used to laugh at the one poor bastard that was lagging about because they were a novelty and they were HARMLESS. They would be lucky to pull out a 0.5 KD against the local connections.

On BO3 they aren't harmless, they're hard to see and hard to hit, they drop all their bullets on you at once while you're still trying to work out where they're about to stutter to. It's not even remotely funny, their connections are so shit it ruins the lobby.

At the bottom is a photo of my time playing on a US server, first five games of the weekend... It's so easy being the 3 bar.

Geo Filter was off, it just chucked me on there on a Sunday evening at about 6.30pm because obviously nobody plays Xbox at the weekend in Europe. WTF!?

I only realised I was on the US dedis when I noticed my 3 bar connection (confirmed my ping of 100ms rather than 25ms) - if 100ms is me to the USA then how the hell can people get into my lobbies with a 250ms ping!? Surely that kind of connection should be infringing human-rights!

I don't care what anyone says, it's not nostalgia.

One bank of dedis for Europe is nowhere near enough, even if it's just the wealthy parts of Europe, it will roughly match the number of gamers in the USA I would expect. Then factor in the shitty internet of the less wealthy countries of Europe. And then let's chuck in the middle East because after 9pm they'll be in the lobby too.

I've got to add that I've got nothing against any of the people from any of these countries.

And I'll also add that the parts of the Middle East that play CoD are very wealthy and have really solid connections but it's a long way from Ireland.

Figures then, and I'm aware that not everyone from every country is a gamer. But these countries are all relatively well off and so the % number of gamers is likely comparable (or at least not a long way off).

USA = 319M people

UK  = 64M

France = 66M

Germany = 80M

Netherlands = 17M

Belgium = 11M

Switzerland = 8M

Austria = 8.5M

Norway = 5M

Denmark = 5.5M

Sweden = 9.5M

= 274.5M people

These countries all have solid internet in general. Obviously in each of these countries there are people out in the sticks, but no more so than in the USA overall.

None of these countries have a poor infrastructure, comms networks, etc. Quite the opposite.

My point is that in these countries at least the same percentage as the USA can afford to be gamers and have the infrastructure available to do it.

As far as I know, we only have one bank of dedis but I don't know any people in most of these countries to ask them if there are others. I've never seen any other on the Netduma and I've never hit a dedi other than Ireland or the US.

Maybe the majority of people in these countries are playing P2P. But from the look of every lobby I play in there are plenty on the Ireland dedis.

This doesn't take into account the rest of Europe and further afield that are always in my lobbies too.

Italy = 60M

Spain = 47M

Poland = 38.5M

Greece = 11M

Turkey = 75M

Portugal = 10.5M

About another 240M people.

These countries are more rural though, the infrastructure is not as good, and are generally less well off, so there will be fewer gamers (% of population) playing CoD online.

No offence intended if you're there, it's just my opinion. But I definitely see people from these countries in the lobbies and not just at silly o'clock.

Spain, and Italy even more so, are not 'poorer' countries at all though, they just have shit internet. Really really shit internet from my experience.

Again I don't mean any offence but it's horrible. I've been there, I've used it, I've seen those connections in the lobbies, it's medieval.

The gamers from the Middle East have a much more stable ping (and often lower) than Spain or Italy and they are about 4 times further away from Ireland.

And there's a lot more countries that I've missed and they're all within about the same area footprint as the USA.

I would expect that even if there are 50% more gamers out of the population of the USA, than there is for Europe, then it's still a comparable number.

I haven't forgotten Canada (35M) but it makes little difference to the numbers.

And yes, there's Central / South America too. But because of the distance and their connections (I would guess they're not great), they shouldn't be on the US servers any more than Africa/Russia should be on Western Europe's.

Anyway that's a lot of people to be accessing one bank of servers on the North Western tip of Europe. And put simply, it doesn't work.

There seems to be a disproportionate number of server locations in the US in comparison. But from all the problems people seem to have playing BO3, that doesn't appear to work either.

And the pic I forgot...

All TDM. First five games of the day.

Only one death between the first two games (a mothership in each game), not camping, just running constantly and jumping everywhere like a dick.

Then I changed lobby (should have stayed but was testing if I'd get onto the Irish dedi) and joined an almost-over game in progress. Bum score. Still US lobby so changed again.

Not sure about the 0.00, was definitely another US lobby. Might have been a dinner-time-dash or just a rage-dash.

Think this last one was a 58-2, where a Wraith+RAPS got me about 8-10 kills each and a Mothership.

Did I play in a different way to normal? No.

Did I play awesomely over those games? No. (No more than usual) ;)

Did I do better than normal? Yes, much better.

Do 3 bar connections have an advantage? Maybe.

Who'd choose to be a 3 bar in a transatlantic lobby!? I would.

Reading all that destroyed my will to live! :)

It wasn't supposed to be that long. I have a typing problem.

We improved BO3 massively by dropping out of party chat and just playing in game chat this evening.

Don't know if this is an issue on PS4 but in party chat on Xbox One it now drops frames every 10 seconds or so, it stutters. It didn't used to do it, not sure what has happened but it affects the whole party.

I did, I commented I think.

But this is new and slightly different problem, game/death chat lag was actual visible lag that only happened when people spoke...

Now party chat causes the game to constantly stutter (frame rate drop or whatever) from start to finish, regardless of whether people speak, even if they're not both in the same lobby - or even the same game actually.

Because this is going to be a long post (surprise!) I'm going to create a thread on it and see what others are experiencing - mainly I'm amazed that people aren't complaining about this in here (and everywhere else online). Although twitter has complaints to @ActivAssist but they'll blame anything but the game - they blamed my headset because obviously my Astro A40s only work sometimes in game chat but always in party chat. And of course, they cause the game to stutter too.

It's laughable how inept their support and the game developers are.

It's not that there just inept CB,( I mean they are inept) but they just aren't going to come out and say they have a flawed product with a ton of issues that they don't even know where to or how to begin to fix them.

People are gonna but the games no matter how they run or how many issues they have, they might not play certain titles for very long but will still purchase them.

People will buy them but I won't buy another CoD by Treyarch (I know people say that a lot), I didn't like BO2 on Xbox 360 but I gave this one a chance because I literally had nothing to play on Xbox One.

It's not even that it's a bad game, quite the opposite, it's a really entertaining game but it's not finished.

It might even be less 'finished' now than it was when it was released.

What surprises me isn't that they won't admit it though, a twitter grunt would probably be executed for releasing something like that, it's that they're not getting hammered by gaming sites for what are major flaws in the games ability to properly function.

I'd love to know the real figures for purchases (separately for each system), drop off, take-up of dlc, and how many are playing right now (like how the MW series would show you how many rather than a % were in each game mode).

I think the days of seeing how many people (numbers wise) are playing a game are over for us.I'm sure they have their reasons for doing it but I gave up trying to figure out why devs and gaming companies do what they do,all it does is aggravate me.

I also agree that BO3 isn't finished,I liked the beta gameplay and thought they might have got their shit together.I hated BO2 as it ran like shit for me this was pre duma but don't know if that would have made a difference as I had "fist me cable" for internet.But I like playing BO2 now on P2P along with MW3,BO1 and Ghosts on PS3.Ghosts still runs on dedis but everything else is P2P.

But agree IMO the fucking beta was better than the actual game in it's current state.I was nice until about 3 months in and then went to shit,again IMO same thing to many patches and fucking with the game.

But I don't know if there a lot of people playing BO3,I could be wrong but don't think there is.

I've always like the concept of their games but they have always suffer from the same inherent issues which if we're honest are the bread and butter of the game
