RADDY1993
Im looking to improve my Asus RT-N66U routers firmware, does anybody know the best 3rd party firmware out there to use at the moment? I use Merlin its the best Imo as its based and supported by Asus, the one you need is at the bottom HERE just go into your router and upload the extracted firmware file. After you have it installed i would clear your Dram this is suggested by the Merlin developers. To clear you Dram turn of the router by the button then hold down the WPS button also on the router and turn back on still holding the WPS button for 20 secs (the power light should flash during this process). Now just configure your router . Heres mine : Heres a vid to also help

Raddy do u prefer the bandwidth control qos or the traditional qos? bandwidth control looks alot more stable but you cant prioritise a device which is annoying. RobReapz
I use QOS and Bandwidth Limiter: Can you use both together? I thought it was 1 or the other.
RADDY1993
Can you use both together? I thought it was 1 or the other. So stop all internet devices and then do a speedtest , write down your speeds. Now open a calculator and enter your speed for Upload then x by 0,97% enter that in your QOS i round mine of to lowest number. Do that for both speeds as i have below: Then hit Apply. Now open Device rules: Add your PS4 like mine ( i take it you have it reserved in DHCP) like below: Once you done all that go back to QOS and select Bandwidth Limiter and give your PS4 half you speeds: Hit Apply and try it out my Hit Detection is spot on after i did this. RobReapz
So you dont modify the Traditional qos rules etc via either mac address or using a service then? my problem is other people are on my network so if i only use bandwidth limiter for all the devices connected that still doesnt give my device the priority, so im prob best using the traditional qos right? thanks for your time mate

Then in the Rules i have ports 80 and 443 set at highest so i can use the internet fine.
RobReapz
So your saying you are able to use traditional qos and bandwidth limiter at the same time? because on mine its 1 or the other, when i use bandwidth limiter the traditional Qos is redundant.
