Recommended Posts

I have the setup isp->Tp.link->Netduma....im wondering if i should have my isp dmz with tp link? or dmz tolink from the netduma?

i feel my condo gives off alot of interference with my gaming experience. would you have some ideas to help with my gaming issues im having. getting killed before i see any other gamer, terrible hit detection with lobbies in my area. i have tried using dsl reports for the best bufferbloat and quaility but still doesnt help me. maybe its the servers i play in.

i play mostly call of duty for where i'm worried about my gaming experience.

is there a different way i should setup my console from the routers?

cheers

The issues with your gaming experience could simply be your Netduma settings. Try the "COD Ultimate" profile and see if that helps. Also, what are your speeds? Is your console on Hyper Traffic?

Is it possible to just use the R1 or go R1 then TP Link if you have to have the TP Link in your set up as I think you would benefit more from the R1's abilities that way?

Even if you have an optimized connection and open nat type then there can still be other factors that can affect your connection such as the other players bad connection. Im not an expert in explaining lag compensation but i have been affected by others bad connection. For example this video where i have a fine connection but this player with high jitter playing on his local Mcdonalds wifi connection owns me

You would be better served going ISP (modem mode/Duma in DMZ)> Duma > TPlink if required. With your current setup I imagine you'll have devices connected to the TP in which case you won't be able to make use of congestion control which is something that will help you significantly.

No not for your speeds, just:

  • Preemptive Algorithm
  • 100% anti-flood
  • Share excess enabled
  • Reset device prioritisation & apply
  • Ensure all devices are connected to the R1
  • Do a wired speed test from a PC

And then 70/70 & hyper traffic should eliminate any local lag.
