Ru2u
Been having a strict NAT problem lately and have found a fix but it's a pain so would like to find a resolution so I won't have to do this all the time. So I had to reboot my R1 yesterday and when I went back on my Xbox One I immediately had a strict NAT. When I go to test multiplayer connection I get a "can not get a teredo IP address" error. The only way to get my NAT back open is by following this procedure exactly: 1) Disable UPNP and save 2) unplug router and modem 3) Plug modem back in and wait till it fully connects 4) Plug router back in and wait till it fully loads 5) Enable UPNP and save 6) Hold the power button on Xbox One till it shuts down and reboots When the Xbox One boots back up I usually have an open NAT now. I'm concerned there might be a problem with UPNP or it's more likely an Xbox issue but the router shouldn't be losing my IP assignments just by rebooting. Any networking guru's wanna take a stab at this and try to help me understand what is going on?
Zennon
Just try number 6 next time it happens. I have a feeling the hard reboot is fixing it not what has went on before. If you set in options energy saving, then it will shut down properly every time and not just sleep.
cranium2001
http://forum.netduma.com/topic/1500-nat-type-moderate-after-asus-update/ If the stuff above doesn't work (what zennon said and that other post)let me know. Mine was doing h the same. I noticed after dmz'ing my netgear the mac address kept changing. I cleared it and rebooted everything one at a time and it's been fine. Search the forum for strict too. There are a couple other posts on it.

II Z IE IR O II
I've noticed on Xbox live (while logging in) that if I play around with my geo filter and not include a "white listed" server, my NAT goes to either strict or moderate and I can't even log-in. Guest Netduma_Iain
Zero the new frequent cloud updates will sort that out.

Just another pointer.
cranium2001
The strict nat happened again after the update. So I did my usual reboot everything and sure enough my mac address had changed again. Set it proper on my Netgear and nat opened up before my eyes, literally. If anyone needs help with that part let me know. I've done it enough now.
