[For the attention of Fraser] Not the proper interface.

Recommended Posts

I have completed all the steps on the quick start guide up to step 7. When I type in the Ip address listed I get to a Mikro Tik interface, not the netduma interface. I feel as if i'm missing something. I have included an image to further illustrate what is happening. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I might be wrong but i think that's the router without the Netduma firmware on it - someone bricked one a while back and it looked like that.

Someone will be along to confirm this later - I'm not certain

Is it not the same as a factory reset though? It's essentially just a blank slate, so putting software on it seems like a non issue, but I know very little about this subject.

Basically Netduma is a software company. They made the software and are using a Routerboard brand router to run their software. Kinda like installing Windows on a PC. Microsoft makes Windows, and HP or Dell make the PC.

What your cable company did was flash the router with Routerboard software instead of the Netduma software which basically makes it useless as a Netduma R1 because the software isn't on it. Now I'm not calling you a liar, but if that is what actually happened... I would be livid and have my cable company pay to replace it.

On the other hand, I'm sure Netduma will replace it for you provided you pay the shipping to send it back.

Contact them at [email protected] and explain what happened as well as a link to this thread. I'm sure Fraser will reply to this in the morning and suggest the same thing.
