SM961
Ping diagnostics says 8.8.8.8 is down, will it affect my game play?, I used PingPlotter to find out. and I had the tech to check out my line so my line today, no problem, the guy even replace my cable with a new one to make sure, and check the signals to my connections, so no problem here, except for the 8.8.8.8. Alex49H
How does he know that server is down? I know I have been getting the same result too.
Alex49H
Nevermind I saw the other post on High Ping. Plus I ran Ping Plotter to an IPv4 server and my ping is at 20 to 30ms which is right. That Google server is having issues.

Zennon
Like I say it has no affect on your gaming that the server is having issue's. It has an affect on Google who have to fix it No problem? What about there router on hop 10 that is giving about 80ms of latency to your line and the 20-30 of jitter overall?
RADDY1993
It works for me.
iAmMoDBoX
8.8.8.8 isn't down, but you're just getting high ping to it... I personally think it's a bad server to test to cause I always ping ridiculous high to it

major masingil
When I use ping plotter to it I always have a significant amount of lost packets on that hop
Zennon
Major, on the hops that have no IP address then yes it is a router on the journey that does not respond to pings will show 100% loss that is normal. We tested multiple IP's to ping against and every time hop 10 a charter router was an issue.
