Blops 3 inconsitent, buffer bloat and why keep changing things?

Hiya all, A couple of nights ago I got so sick of blops 3 inconsistency I simply took out the disk and seriously contemplated weighing it in.

Just like blops 1 and 2 after 3 months the game has just become an inconsistent ball ache to play.

Tonight with my usual settings Congestion control at 70 down and 12 up which gives me about 15 down a 700k up with distribution even I went 4-16 ish on HC tdm, 0.27 KDR........ I have been playing cod for 8 years now and if I had laid in a corner, not moved and pulled the trigger when some fucker walked past I would have done better. 5 hit markers and no kill on HC????

That was just about it for me but I persevered and did some buffer bloat tests.

The best I could get was A, C and F. pretty shitty and so I adjusted my Congestion control to 58% up and 58% down.

Still A, C and F.

Now I am 47 years old so not the fastest twitch reactions and for the most part have to outplay my enemies with brains and not reactions but the following 6 games played pretty well for me.

Nowhere near what most of you guys manage but if I am positive I am happy.

1.56/2.17/2.13/1.40/2.33 and a 1.10 :) on 1 game I got the highest score in the lobby by 300 points despite being on the losing team so I couldn't show off my stunning dance moves.

Happy days.

But this just goes to show how totally inconsistent this game is.

I am wondering why nearly every time I switch my console on there is a hotfix when I connect to the servers? Why do they keep tweaking stuff several times a week?

OK grumble over must be time for my Horlicks or is there a joke in there somewhere? lol

Peace out yall, happy hunting.

You need to be testing your line for jitter with pingplotter bagsta.

Jitter is the main cause of problems for online gaming, having your cc at say 70% is stopping it locally but you need to check for ISP congestion if your games are bad.

I agree with Zennon on the issue of ISP congestion, especially for cable internet connections.

Also, make sure you do an internet diagnosis with the Netduma software.

My internet is cable and trust me, it's terrible. I would love to be able to blame COD servers, but the issue lies with my own internet.

Just tested and getting 30-200 ms ping times listing jitter and spikes as "terrible".

CC set to 70% up and down.

Have you been on to your provider Glitch? Can you not move to another ISP?.

A few members and fuzzy the mod have gone to DSL to escape the cable nightmare .

I have, there is nothing they will do. Their only response is to not use their service, when they're the only service offered in my area (they block competition from providing due to our laws).

Hopefully I can move just 15 minutes away from where I'm currently located at get 1 Gigbit down/up with 1 ms ping times.

:(

I have run ping plotter before and it showed no abnormal results.

I am sure it is on the Black ops end of things as my connection tests through the duma are amazing. It does EXACTLY what it says it does and puts me in lobbies between 9 and 20 ms ping. mostly around 9.5 ms.

I have not played on the PS dedi's so i do not know how they play.

Xbox for the most part is great but there is the odd match where it is out of sync and i cant get the jump on 0.39 kd players.

By all means if you can get a new ISP but if they know there is no one else you can choose from they make comments like...our suggestion would be to get a new provider. So your probably right there not going to do anything.I have cable and DSL and there is no comparison in the 2,DSL is way more stable. And yes this does depend on your provider but in my case night and day difference on ping plotter.

OK, folks, So having had issues with bufferbloat I did two tests within minutes of each other. CC set at 51% up and down.

one I did through My wired via ethernet PC

post-788-0-12051300-1459008980_thumb.jpg

and another one through my Ipad

post-788-0-67451300-1459008981_thumb.jpg

I know which one I want to believe but that is some inconsistency there. I mean I have questioned my ISP as have others but it looks like the test through the DUMA internet diagnosis and the ones through my ipad give me much better results.

So in conclusion if you are getting poor results through one device for bufferbloat, before calling your ISP and having a hairy fit at them down the phone it may be worth doing a couple more tests.

I don't understand any of this...

My Netduma test always gives me exceptional across the board and a base ping of 12ms - 12.5ms

I can reliably get A+ A+ F (bum upload) on DSLreports with congestion control - leaving me with 30down/2.2up.

The bandwidth never seems to change regardless of time of day or weekend or anything.

And yet my games frequently play like crap and my ping is almost never below 50ms in a game and usually bouncing around between 50ms and 80ms and if I'm really lucky 200ms.

It's not the people in my house either because as soon as I suspect they're causing a problem I completely disable the wifi and lock the door - yep, I'm a bastard when I want to play online but I pay for this stuff.
