Help me understand this pingplotter?

Recommended Posts

There was a jump from 24ms to 72ms at the start of the test (see the plot), maybe you were web browsing ? a longer sample time would help but if that was just an anomaly you are ok.

Remember not to surf stream etc when testing if you are testing pure ping.

Or if you are testing out the congestion control to find the best % and algorithm then of course download or run speed tests while testing that's how I find the best for myself.

That is my laptop direct to my modem and yet my ISP says everything is fine.

I suspect the person who made that statement either didn't know what he was looking at, didn't see it, or doesn't care to chase the problem.  That is a shot for your local ISP's Twitter account...

Yeah. As soon as the holiday goes by I am going to call the last tech that came out. He said he would bring a supervisor to "check" my equipment and maybe bring a line from the tap to my house.

I told him about the rats in the attic and he said no they didn't do anything to my line but he didn't go up and check. He did put an Attenuator on my modem because he said my signal was too good!

Plus he said someone from maintenance would come out and check the tap but if they found something they would come into our home to look. But if they didn't find anything wrong at the tap they wouldn't come inside. But no one came to the door. The woes of having Cox internet.

Yeah ask Z about my jitter issues as he saw them first hand,it's a shitty problem to have and not be able to do anything about it yourself. If your ISP doesn't acknowledge it,time to go ISP shopping

That is what I say. AT&T could be my next choice here.
