MrWhooz
How come even with anti flood enabled, the game feels sort of laggy? Also, yesterday me and Zennon tested the algorithms and it clearly showed Reactive to be the superior algorithm, i did the dsl buffer bloat test and the results from that say the Preemptive is better? Im so lost right now tbh. Youtube Evidence:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJJrXhH-PDE&feature=youtu.be ( I have a crappy mic so turn the volume down low before watching, theres a hiss in the video)
fuzzy clam
The game is feeling sort of laggy because it is.Not for everyone but for some no matter what lobby you're in the game feels laggy. And sure you get more speed thru reactive as pre is a more conservative algorithm.I should be using reactive but I use pre as it seems smoother to me,just my opinion. MrWhooz
Since the quality and bufferbloat is better with Preemptive should i use that algorithm while gaming??? Does deep packet processing effect Preemptive?
Zennon
Your base ping was 55 which is high to start off with. With preemptive you had spikes of 90 with reactive 60.
fuzzy clam
I would follow Zennon's advice as he did a one on one with you and that man knows his shit.
Zennon
Your sister was on the Inet at the time I was testing so I am assuming there is usage from others when you are gaming so I would definitely go with the 5ms spikes than 35ms spikes with preemtive. As long as you have the CC set to 70% each way you have a nice big buffer to stop the bloat do not worry about these tests.
MrWhooz
Is there anything i can do about high base pings?
Zennon
It might just be the distance from you to the nearest Google server, to make sure try a pingtest.net or speedtest.net to a close server.
Zero_Actual
I wish there was a way to enter in our own sever ip that we wanted the netduma to test instead of using Google. Not trying to hijack this thread. Lol!
MrWhooz
It may have to do witht he fact that these test are done over power line since i cant be wired

Zennon
That is a better ping , you may have interleaving on your line that corrects errors. You could ask your ISP.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 31, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 31, 2015 I wish there was a way to enter in our own sever ip that we wanted the netduma to test instead of using Google. JConnor
If there is demand we can certainly see about implementing this Is there anyway it could automatically ping one of the actual game servers e.g. CoD, Halo, etc., when doing a test? I think this is what everybody wants to know (aside from general speeds, BB and ping)?
