  1. Good Morning! Is there someone on the team I can send a pm to about a website thst the firewall may be blocking? I had to swap back to my UDM Pro due to my gf needing access immediately to this work site. Or maybe be given access to the firewall on my unit? Thanks!
  2. That's so weird that changing a pc to a console and a console to a pc is giving better geo results lol. Curious why that is happening, let us know what they find cus I am intrigued lol.
  3. I was an idiot and had strict mode on.... thought I switched it off before using it. It is not working as planned, sorry for the delay.
  4. I've tried putting my home location in the middle of the ocean and then using ping assist as a general latency catch all for my games and it hasn't worked at all so far.
  5. .23 is officially a unsteady mess with geo-filter. Tried powering down my ps and redoing my area for the server I play on and every single time I have been put on servers in Georgia and Oklahoma and neither are in my polygon area. At this point I'd rather go back to .21 as it was more stable and my game locations worked better.
  6. For some reason the Geo-Filter doesn't play well when the device is marked as a PC, seeing it as a game console seems to get it going. Not sure of the why, but using the picture label of PS,Xbox or Game Console is how they have recommended it. Maybe someone from their team could explain it better.
  7. Yeah I realized the other day they made containers extremely annoying to use so that is gonna be a huge red mark in my book. To be honest, I've been eyeing the firewalla line of security devices or running a mini pc like the protectli and using Opnsense or openwrt for my Firewall/Container needs and then using the Duma as my DHCP/Routing/Geo-Filter/QOS
  8. Yeah nothing really concerning this go around tbh, just small things to play around with. I will try halo without geo-latency and see if it lets me through but I may set it as Xbox or Game console instead of Playstation and see how it reacts as well. So far, smooth sailing my friend. If something major comes up I'll report back, but for now just more testing.
  9. Truth be told, the issue seems to be resolved now with the .23 firmware on the blocking and allowing buttons. Before I would click, wait like 30 seconds and no response, now they are doing what they should be. Was still seeing some weird attempts to connect to outside servers but they got blocked, just weird that there are a few attempts before it moves on. I might do one more factory reset and then fully power the device off so it gets a good flush out. Majority of the issues including the lower speed have resolved now, so I will be playing with it more tonight since I'll be off this weekend and can spend some time testing a more thoroughly. I will say, on PC, I set my device to a Playstation in device manager and fired up Halo Infinite. I ended up having to allow Geo-Latency before I could get into a game, but they were consistently outside my radius zones so that was a bummer.
  10. A lot of what my IPS picks up is port scanning on my network and it is usually harmless except for one instance it was a attempted breach. I don't really open ports on my network due to not wanting the port seen via a scan lol. When I ran a fing port scan against the Duma last night it didn't show any port issues or wide open ports, so that was nice. I work heavily in information security as well as my core role as an engineer, so I'm always hesitant to let a basic device run my network but so far so good lol. I would like to see a prosumer level Duma router with a beefy cpu/ram setup with the ability to do some of the things the UDM can do. Not super likely, but I would cough up the money to grab one for sure if they did a rack mountable chassis styler router.
  11. I actually left my router running a test on the lower ping servers to see which had the best overall stability using the heatmap tracking you guys put on there. Really excited to go home and check to see what is what. I think that feature needs to be discussed more, it is a game changer because if a server has a history of getting the crap beat of it and being all over the place, then it's best to find the next best one lol.
  12. Sounds like I need to try a potential first but probably second factory reset on mine tonight lol. Gonna play some bang bang ray gun mode tonight lol.
  13. It could be the that the way the comcast modem is sending data to the router could be causing a backup in data tbh. Not all devices play well with one another, so all the more reason to get a stand alone modem and let the R3 run your network. Highly recommend either the Netgear CM1000, Arris S33 or the Motorola MB8611. All three of those are more than compatible with Comcast and you should see much better latency as those all in ones are designed for ease of replacement and have super short shelf life lol.
  14. I sold my series x and bought a ps5 because majority of games on xbox are on the xbox game pass on pc lol. I will jump on halo tonight and give it a shot, thanks for the info
  15. Highly recommend ditching comcast gateway all in one router/wifi with your own Docsis 3.1 modem. I gave my DOCSIS 3.1 modem to my gf's parents for her little brother, then hooked them up with some mesh wi-fi ap's for christmas and they have had way better bandwidth and latency compared to comcraps modem/router combo.
  16. I have the same ping optimize issue except my upload is stuck on 100%. not my download.
  17. Well, 12 feet away in a heavily saturated area with a competing wi-fi ssid on the same channel can cause the fair signal issue. Since you are aware of the deprecating issue with having competing channels, I assume you know that phones and tablets only go off signal strength in general and do not base the signal on other factors. However, if you didn't, I would download wi-fi analyzer and then scan for what wi-fi channels are around you. Once you find your least congested channel, aka minimal strength of wifi, Use 1,6,11 for 2.4ghz and for 5ghz i'd stick to 36,40,44,48,52,56,60,149,153,157 and 161. These channels are all non overlapping which means you won't get signal bleed in from other channels. Hope this helps.
  18. I would make sure you have geo-latency unchecked, leave strict mode checked on. Make sure you are setting your geo-filter before you open the game up on xbox. Close the game out, let the servers clear and then launch it again and see what happens.
  19. And you have strict mode check and geo-latency unchecked as well? The increase in latency is probably the ping-stabilizer being kicked in to help with jittter or "ping fluctuation" in your route to the game server. This helps stabilize the connection to the game giving you a smoother experience. You can watch the video of this being explained on their Youtube, just search Netduma and then look for ping stabilizer video. It may be called steady ping on there as well, can't remember lol.
  20. Wifi strength is not indicative of speed and capability, it also factors in noise floor and signal deprecation. You can still get good speed but you will have added latency and when playing games or trying to look at live footage. If there is a camera getting a lower signal, you will notice delays when live viewing and issues loading up the app.
  21. Are you using the home location with a radius set? Polygon drawn style? Or using ping assist with your home set in the middle of nowhere? Just trying to see how you are using geo-filter so I can help.
  22. Adding on to this, there was another issue I encountered that should be addressed. When using ping optimizer in expert mode, when it goes to test the upload, it never changes from 100% for some reason. I tried rebooting the router and turning off smart boost to see if this caused anything to fix and no dice. Just thought the team should be aware Another thing, while I was at home I noticed the ability to allow or block servers is not working. This is something I have always done which makes it easier for servers to be used and make it where everything outside of what I want to use is blocked rather than the whole polygon draw deal.
  23. How is Halo Infinite these days? Last I played was around mid last year and it was terrible.
  24. I can't remember if I did one or not but I will bounce it back to factory when I get off work and try again. Worst case it may be tomorrow night but I should be able to squeeze in a redo tonight. Hopefully the team is back from vacation soon to work out the rest of the kinks. If OS 4 runs well on the R2 I am gonna sell my R2 for pretty cheap to a buddy of mine to use in his setup as well so we have the ultimate lobby's at all times lol.
  25. Last night I dove into some testing with firmware .23 after requesting it and these were the issues I noticed. 1. While the servers were very well detected compared to their heat map counter part, I noticed a lot of attempted connections to a server in Oklahoma and another on the east coast, didn't catch the state it was trying to grab as my filter wasn't zoomed out but I believe it was on the eastern US seaboard side. 2. Once connected to a server in Texas or California, there was a very real struggle for the filter to identify the latency of the server and would often time out. Stabilizer was definitely working as I did not see the jitter that was typically there in the game without the stabilizer but you couldn't *see* it running on the geo-filter lol. Not a deal breaker as the device is still doing it's job, just a weird buffer issue I believe. 3. Ad blocker page seems to lock up with firefox if left open for a few minutes while going through a few devices. I need to test chrome and see if this issues persists or is browser specific. This issue was present in .21 as well but not as prevelant. 4. Smart boost on .23 is causing some weird router time outs to the mobile app while monitoring geo-filter or smart boost, I will try turning one or both off and see if this still acts up tonight after work. 5. The speed test is a little bit lower in accuracy compared to the previous .21 for some reason and even using the speedtest app in windows, I was hanging lower around 920, instead of the 935-940 I got before. Not a big enough loss to cry over, just thought I would mention it due to it being there in my testing lol. 6. After power cycling the unit after changing my DHCP allowed IP's, (had to reboot due to my devices not grabbing the IP's in the range I set), I got the first time use tour notices on everything again. Not sure why It thought I needed the tour again but this is again a minor issue, more of an annoyance lol. Overall this is a solid router, been working very well and has taken over my UDM Pro although I may end up using this as more of a geo-filter and less of a main router due to the security capabilities of my UDM Pro that I have come to rely on. It would be cool to know how Netduma hardens their routers so those of us more security minded could feel more comfortable with using the device as a whole home router.
