  1. Ahh gotcha, can you check the PM I sent, realized the replacement router is heading to the wrong address, wanted to see if your team could get it swapped before it lands at the denver metro hub.
  2. Well there we go! Glad my suggestion to downgrade and then upgrade worked, I had to do the same thing when my Adblocker wasn't running any lists in .40 lol. Go forth and destroy my son!
  3. Interesting, just trying to wrap my head around the DPI setup. Idk man, I'm kind of at a loss because using my UDM Pro atm, my console sticks to 3075 for my PS5 on COD and my Xbox Live keeps using 3074 for my connection to the Xbox PC Halo port.
  4. Post a screenshot but make sure to cross out your Modem IP, it'll be the 2nd IP or Hop. First should be R3 192.168.77.1, post that and I can take a look to see what is going on. No need to offer anyone money bro, we're all here for the same reasons, support and love of gaming.
  5. Eh, I try man. Sometimes I get short with people that get super rude and I need to be better about that. Not perfect by any means, but if the world had optimized connections all over, the internet and interconnectivity as we know it would be unreal responsive. Unfortunately, ISP's think Bandwidth is king.... High Bandwidth Low Latency networking is where the future lies at man. A video chat or gaming on servers across the world without breaking 70ms.... that's the dream lol.
  6. Yeah man you're welcome, I've had a slow day at work so I am trying to jump in and try to help where I can. I don't work for their team but I definitely have a love for networking and gaming that keeps me going outside of work. Technology is my thing so I always try to help and educate. Give them a chance to respond and see what they can do, my router is basically a paper weight right now and they are shipping me a replacement that flys out tomorrow. So here's to hoping I can test the new firmware soon and give some feedback.
  7. Gotcha, well, it sounds like it could definitely be the R3 then. Keep using your old router for now is my best advice till Fraser can sort your issue out. Downgrading is the same way you upgrade, setting > troubleshooting > firmware upgrade and then just upload the older .21 or .23 firmware whatever is on that link I sent you, the other options, turn off smart boost and don't run ping optimizer or any congestion control manually. See if that solves anything.
  8. Also, you said it took awhile for it to act up with the R3 right? Maybe leave the old router hooked up for a bit and game and see if it acts up. Anyone else on the network right now? Maybe run a youtube video over wifi while you game on the old router to simulate a busy network.
  9. You could try downgrading to .21, @Netduma Fraser thoughts?
  10. hmmm, is it prio based on ports though? Like, does the router say "x ports are now prio for first in first out" ? Just curious as to what would trigger the xbox so see a conflicting port. It also could very well be a firmware issue on the xbox causing it to avoid that 3074 port. Hey Deasha, are you playing call of duty and port forwarding that at all?
  11. Do you have another router to hook up to the modem to test with? Like I said, being the only person on the modem probably won't cause the chipset issue to activate. It is typically when a high priority task is being performed that it is going to rear it's ugly head. Like a large download during ping optimizer or the router telling the modem what order to queue packets in would be my best guess. Highly highly recommend trying another router and seeing if the issue follows. If it does, Modem is problem. If it does not, then the router is acting up and then they can help you test further. What firmware are you using on the R3 and did you factory reset it after upgrading the firmware on the router at all since owning it?
  12. Because you're barely pushing any data across the modem while gaming. When there are multiple processes is typically when the issue kicks in. Try hooking another router up and you should see the same issue.
  13. Bro, it is your modem. You probably don't see it when you're the only person using it but when people are on wifi using the router, the Arris TM3402 has the PUMA 6 Chipset issue in it. Do you have another router to plug in? As soon as bandwidth that is more than just a little bit of data is sent across that modem it will cause massive ping spikes. Check this list here- https://lookgadgets.com/articles/intel-puma-modems-list/
  14. In a way it actually does make sense, smartboost it seems is port based for traffic, so if gaming traffic has a wide port range, it could be conflicting enough to make the xbox say, "Oh this port is taken, swapping to another door (port) to use." It's like 2 devices requesting but the router is acting as the device for some reason. Kinda wanna try to reproduce this with COD and an Xbox Game Pass PC title when my router gets here.
  15. Technically, if they open sourced the code to run it in a cmd line within a docker/container/pie, you could do the code and leave it to the user to enable to package. Hell, openwrt has the package code already setup as a service, you just have to download the pkg and it self installs running a script. So technically, you're not bypassing anything, you're just making the option available and then the end user is adding it to their router that they own. This would avoid litigation issues and you could "encourage" it being used to help with accurate speed testing and optimization of latency. I apologize, iPerf is a LAN tool, I used to run it alongside something else to get WAN added on. I haven't had much sleep since I finished moving late this weekend, speaking of, I will test that router real quick tonight so we can get moving on a swap if it doesn't work.
  16. You guys could use the CMD line install, https://opensource.com/article/20/1/internet-speed-tests. Few options to do it but it would certainly help with the issues you guys are facing with it and ping optimizer. Idk how you would tie in latency for optimizer to see but code isn't my specialty lol. Making a command line backend for it to run or if the router is linux based, you can add in the iPerf capability for testing speed, it would even give the router the ability to test speed between router and device to find potential bad cables, switches or just device NIC bottlenecks.
  17. No worries bro, I will be around more tomorrow evening since I will be moving tonight and tomorrow throughout the day. I will still monitor via mobile and see if I can get answers on my end from the Ambassador team.
  18. It's not a big deal, I just turned off bypass speed test and lowered my sliders until my bufferbloat tests were at a level I wanted them at. Running smooth so far, quick question though, when using ping assist, does geo-latency need to be turned on? Or can I just use ping assist with strict mode on? One small thing I noticed while streaming last night, there seems to be some desyncing going on and some skipping for a few moments when streaming Hulu and HBO Max. I have ad blocker disabled for my device so I don't believe that is the issue, but I may turn off smart boost next and see if it is related to that. Overall this was a solid update for me after re-installing, running it for a bit, then doing the factory and re-setup. Let me know if you guys decide to bring on more beta testers, would love to keep running tests and providing feedback and solutions I have found to work on my end.
  19. Where are you getting the list from? Currently looking at using a beefier list for my adblocking.
  20. In the xbox there should be 2 options, one for use alternate port and the other for default port. You need to select default port and not type in 3074 as your alternate. If it is switching, try putting it on default port, do a full shutdown, then wait 3 minutes and power back up. Does the issue persist? What about in standby mode? -Current Xbox Ambassador
  21. For me it has been great so far, there are times when the server is running less than ideal but that is COD side, I am getting ready to test against specific servers over the next few days and see which is the most stable. Highly recommend using that feature in ping heatmap. You can setup a server monitor to see which ones are the most stable. I will say this, lag compensation is a real bitch on the new MW3 if you do play that. If you do play though, the R3 makes shoot first die first a lot less common due to stabilizing any jitter so you don't get algorithm hell with the server trying to decide who won the battle. Outside of that, I get fast downloads and very low latency on most games, 35ms or less on most games tbh so personally I think you will enjoy it a lot compared to copper internet. If you have any questions on your setup once you get your ONT let the team or myself know and I will gladly help you tweak. Welcome to team fiber!
  22. OK so I swapped back to .23, let it bake for 20 minutes, swapped back to the .40 and let that bake for 20 minutes and ran a round or two. Factory reset to clear out some hanging on the router and everything is working except ping optimizer. When I run it, the upload tests at 100% every time. Half the time, it fails to load or the other it tells me my ping is optimal already. Tried this with no devices connected and all my devices connected. Geo-Filter and hit detection are much better this go around. Almost there, seems like just a few more bugs to isolate and fix now!
  23. It's on the first page of this thread, you have to click to show it on the icon below the patch notes.
  24. It does not, after upgrading I waited 10 minutes before factory reset. I'll downgrade and then upgrade again without a factory this time and see if the issue persists.
  25. CPU is working well, but other issues are glaring.
