Doesn't explain anything. Would need to know more about your ISP and configuration. Could have just a faulty unit from the beginning. Still hard to tell with out more info and details But sounds like you've moved on so, enjoy ASUS then. Glad mine works.
-
The ISP side should be checked first thing, signals and line quality and modem or ONT configurations. Cabling then configuration of the router. Factory reset set and setup from scratch. Limit making lots of changes right off the bat. I've seen others post good working XR1000s so not everyone has problems.
-
Might give more details on what your having problems with the XR. Iv'e not see major issues with my XR1000. Works well. Factory resets are a valid troubleshooting step. There maybe some mis-cofigurations or something that causes the router to stop working right. Seen this MANY times where a reset solves many issues. Also how the router is configured is important as well. And what the router is connected too on the ISP side can impact any router as well. There are some things can could help. But ya know, can't lead a horse. Can't always blame the router. 🙄

@kinelMake sure the ISP service lines are in good condition and operating at ISP specs first and foremost. Have the ISP check all lines and signals up to the mode you end up with. Work with the ISPs for signal and line issues and such on that side of the fence. Modem only device is recommended if you get a external router. Refer to ASUS forums and support site for help and information regarding there products.

No biggy. Just wanted to re-check this to confirm. Not sure how the one user got his to work. 🤔 I'm patient. 😎

Ok, just checked xbox chat with my R1 v207 after a reset and setup from scratch, connected to a CAX80. Xbox wired to the R1. I can see the voice signal appear on screen when I talk, however none of my friends can hear me in the chat group. I switched back to a different router, NG SXR30 and xbox chat works fully.
-
The reset was applied after v207 was applied and setup from scratch. One thing that's standard when I update FW on Duma routers. 😉 I'll try again and see what happens as I have put a different cable modem online. CM1200 to CAX80 in modem only mode.
-
@pedrofr What version of FW did you update too? I've got the most recent version, v207 and xbox chat does NOT work. I haven't seen any updates since this was commented on back in may.
-
What browser had you been using before?
-
Try a different browser and or PC. Working for me on Opera GX. Are you having problems downloading the FW file from the drop box or UPLOADING fw to the R1? What browser are you using?
-
Awesome. Looking forward to help test out a fix when it's ready. 😉

I believe ND has been able to reproduce this...Hoping for a update on this if possible.

Lets remember that Wifi will not see much near 900Mpbs on the XR series routers unless your wifi device supports 4x4 antenna configuration and also supports 1733Mpbs which only the XR450/500 support if 160Mhz is enabled. Otherwise 1300Mpbs is the norm. Most 5Ghz AC devices max out at around 400-500mpbs with 2x2 antenna configurations. 4x4 should see around 900Mpbs range configurations and devices are optimally set up and supportive. Wired ports, depending on FW/PC and HW NAT support should see near 900Mpbs or over. However I think the R1 doesn't support this. The R2 does.

Lets keep an eye on this thread as well regarding any MS xbox Chat issues:
-
Patience people. Fixes and FW development does NOT happen over night.
-
No. Only had one wired PC connected to the R1 router during testing time. Factory reset and setup from scratch using default settings aside enabling and disabling QOS. This test just just to see what the differences were between enabled and disabled with a wired PC.
-
@Netduma Fraser I can confirm that MS xbox party chat is still not working on this version of FW. I can start a party but soon as someone attempts to join it disconnects and errors out. If I attempt to join a party invite, It sits there and says "connecting" then errors out after about 15 seconds. I'm taking my R1 off line and putting my R2 online.

All these tests were set to Auto-Enable Only.
-
Well must say, kinda reason why there is a beta group and if your apart of it, would be to test a beta build out. I'll be hooking mine up though and will report my findings.
-
Some speed tests. 1. QoS Disabled. 2. QoS Enabled - Both sliders at 100% 3. QoS Enabled - Down at 75% and Up at 99%.
-
Just curious if you have tried this version of FW and xbox chat yet?
-
Ok, I would have sworn it was working. But no matter. I haven't used the wifi radio on this router at all. 😉 Thank you.

Couple of items I saw today after loading v207. I did a reset on the R1 first. Installed v207. Factory reset again just to be sure. Cleared out all browser caches from Edge/Opera. I get a log in screen here? I used admin and password. I would request this initial log in screen be removed until the user inputs new log in credentials during the initial setup wizard process. Walked thru the setup wizard and set up new log in credentials for admin and the password. Completed the wizard. 1. Noticed that the WIFI LED on the R1 is not enabled or ON. WIFI settings were enabled on the UI and appeared on my phone as a SSID to connect to. I disable the WIFI radio button then turned it back ON. Still nothing on the routers LED. 2. Closing the browser and opening Opera, I got the log in screen however the newly entered credentials input did not get me into the routers web page. Kept asking for credentials. I then input the default admin/password and got in. I would expect that the setup wizard would have updated the admin log in credentials during the setup? If I reboot the R1, then seems that the new log in credentials are put in place and I can get in.

Intel's Puma 6 chipset suffers from latency & jitter, fix soon.

Yes I was asking what modem you had. The huawei modem is a CABLE Modem. The TP Link Archer C7 1250 is a ROUTER. Not a cable modem/router. The C7 is a WiFI Router only. The hauwai is a cable modem only. I was trying determine what you had and why your asking about the TPLink Archer router having a Puma Chip set. It doesn't due to the fact that Intel Puma Chip sets are only used on Cable modems. Not used in any WiFi routers at all. Unfortunately public access to resources regarding what modems have which chip sets is now been taken offline. Wikidevi.com was the site that posts this information about different routers and modems. This site has been closed down. So I don't know what the hauwei modem/ONT is using for it's chip set. You might ask the Mfr. Personally I would not use anything huawei. I saw some posts on searches that this model huawei is out of date as well. Something to consider upgrading to something newer at some point. Good luck. -

Do you have a link to the support site your this? The c7 model is a router only. No built in modem. There A and C series are routers only from what there site says. The CR series are there gateway modems with built in routers. So the huawei is you ISP modem?
