@DerlandesYour not going to be missing too much id say the most unique new feature is the anti-jitter though it hasn’t been fully detailed as to what it actually does specifically. As long as the DPI is updated it should be all good on my opinion I use all operating systems and it just how you tweak them and whether the packets are detected properly etc
-
@CathPacket loss is typically related to ISP or equipment being faulty it not something that should be appearing on the network unless the network is being throttled at a certain time though you can mitigate this from happening by using prioritization rules if you know it other users in the household causing all packets to be taken away. Though Smart QOS pretty much alleviates that by just being automatic and leaving bandwidth to each device as that didn't use to be the case before it was more complicated and now it more convenient for users.

DARKNESS replied to HANDSOME KING's topic in Feature Ideas & Improvements for DumaOS
@XR700 OwnerI would just increase the radius and see if that solves it pretty similar to apex legends were you’ll time out constantly but it’ll connect to the server when it finds one that matches the area or ping some games are exception like Fortnite the geo doesn’t work unless you have the area selected- 61 replies

DARKNESS replied to HANDSOME KING's topic in Feature Ideas & Improvements for DumaOS
@XR700 OwnerSo if I am understanding you correct your saying that geo filter is off by default? Well all you do is enable it common sense and of course it will kick you off servers if there not around the designated area. I did find the ping heatmap to be inaccurate when it came to the console version for PUBG I don’t know about PC so it might be different but same concept.- 61 replies

XR1000 rapp issues
DARKNESS replied to Bussiness Goose's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
@Bussiness GooseI would leave bandwidth allocation alone and use congestion control and set it to always on and do the following steps to reduce buffer bloat use a tool called ping plotter or you can do this using command prompts constantly pinging and test whether your ping spikes by downloading or watching a 4k video though it a lot easier just to do a speed test while monitoring it as it floods the network and if you see it spike keep reducing the congestion control till you find the the ideal spot were there no large ping spikes. I would also do a hard reset as it seems like the Ping Heatmap + Connection benchmark bugged out in your case you can also just do a reboot and see if that solves it to add I would prioritize the device your categorizing it as game console if your on PC soon there should be a DPI update which will detect prioritization a lot more efficiently however it still hasn't been pushed hopefully next week as the XR1000 DPI has been outdated for a while and I have tested all the DPI on the R2 and there definitely way more accurate do to my testing and others. -

Family members Playstation connection
DARKNESS replied to TheMW2Ghost's topic in Community Discussion
@TheMW2GhostI would definitely just leave bandwidth allocation alone and just use traffic prioritization and use qos to get the least amount of buffer bloat I recommend either using buffer bloat/waveform or using ping plotter to figure out if your connection spikes when doing a throttle and setup the qos more accordingly ... -
@Netduma Fraserwhat date are units shipping exactly?
-
@gearsniper550 Dude packet loss has nothing to do with dns it either you equipment or ISP to test this use ping plotter or similar software

Help! Packetloss from XR1000
DARKNESS replied to DDC's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
@DDCTo note that is pretty bad packet loss since it is consistent something I have had prior on my line so it definitely something that going to affect your day to day activities especially anything to do with VOIP like games... Using ping plotter you can tell if your equipment is at fault if you lose packets on the first hop something to note as many ISP love to claim that it your equipment fault and waste your time when they don't know how to check -
Help! Packetloss from XR1000
DARKNESS replied to DDC's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
@DDCYou have to test this yourself but if they found out that there were issues then that something your going to have to keep on contact for them to fix -
So to access the UI you just enter 192.168.77.1 it not going to show a prompt like on the XR series...the reset button is the small button in the case that says reset that really about it
-
Just use polygon mode around the low ping server area doesn’t matter we’re your at it we’re the servers are located that matters and if you use geo on the wrong area well that answers why your being timeout of the server
