CES got a reaction from 648 USD - Wasted on DumaOS in Goodbye Netduma routers
After so long with the netduma R2 and the xr1000 as well as the R3 router, i have decided that these routers are simply not worth it. The amount of software issues & lack of functional updates is unbearable. I have switched to Asus routers which has definitely been alot better (Asus ROG rapture GT-AXE11000 Running asusWRT Merlin software) this router has been 1000% better in every aspect and it was the same price as Netduma routers. I love the concept the the Netduma routers but the functionality and software support for these routers are none existent. Im not sure what needs to change with the Netduma team but the lack of support is not on my list of favorites. Among the lack of software support, these routers seem under powered and cooling efficiency is lacking especially when pushing these routers to the limit. Netduma we pay money for these routers we are expecting you guys to make a real effort in solving issues like QOS or even interface related issues. I have been watching the forums for awhile now and i have made the decision to no longer be a supporter or customer until there’s some sort of major overhaul with the software and the team working on this… granted nothing is perfect but an attempt to roll out updates or “hotfixes” would be appreciated by many, and the fact that there is no 3rd party software support or solution shows me that these devices aren’t as customizable as they may seem. Overall i am extremely disappointed with netgear(xr1000) and netduma(R2,R3) i have owned them all & the only reason anyone should look at getting this router is for the geo filter for blocking servers you don't want to connect to. Overall i give these products a 3/10 absolutely a waste of money.

CES reacted to Netduma Fraser in R2 Stable somewhat
What game are you playing and on what platform? When you notice it have a look at what is being blocked, then you can add it to the whitelist.
DumaOS 4 is much easier to develop on and is much more interconnected as well which is something DumaOS 3 can't do. We're not struggling, we're a software company so open sourcing the software that makes us money wouldn't help us in any way. Updates have never been on a schedule, we'll release them when we can/when they're ready.

CES reacted to x12Tyler in It's been almost two months since the last update. When can we expect fixes for issues, we are all struggling with?
I agree but all the videos about steady ping seem to indicate if you only ping only increase by 1-2 let’s say you start at 10 but it fluctuates by 1-2 making it 11-12ms at times then steady ping is still going to help you and will remove all jitter and stuff so if that isn’t the case all those promotion videos for steady ping are kinda misleading.

Be aware that return process after a month of purchase might require legal steps so...
They know it's not working properly (sorry its a router nothing magical should be setup up one/twice very occasional update or settings adjustment) not a beta/dev tester for a product try this or this or this or this or that or this or that or this oh well wait for an update might fix. Its a joke, not fit for purposes even as a basic router in my opinion currently.
No eta's on fix or updates for issue just try these work arounds is crazy...be honest stuff didn't work out the way it was planned let people return useless product and who wants to play around with it let them keep it, no quibble return's for unhappy customers, we don't expect even a sorry anymore so let's part way's?
(sorry for venting product has potential but currently it's in a failed state)

Probably 2025. Netduma still hasn’t released a firmware. It’s almost been 3 months and nothing. It appears that they only have 1 developer on the team lol

CES reacted to TG3NOC1D3 in It's been almost two months since the last update. When can we expect fixes for issues, we are all struggling with?
I mean, I get it. When the router first came out they were just trying to get the device up to a working standard with majority of applications working. Now however, they are focusing on one massive upgrade to get everything working and without issues at all. The core features that they sold everyone on via DumaOS 4 is a big deal to the users and their team. People got used to these every couple of weeks drops so I understand their frustration and yes, a roadmap would be nice but I get why they don't even if I don't agree with it.
Unfortunately due to the unstable wifi and my need for VPN this router is a paperweight atm. Nothing against the awesome features, I just need what I need for my network and my UDM Pro has been a friggin workhorse for me this far. I'd love to eventually just run this for my network and use my UDM Pro as a Security Gateway but I will wait till I see how the new firmware runs.

CES reacted to Netduma Lew in NEW R2 FIRMWARE: 3.3.280
Hey everyone!
We’re excited to provide you with the latest firmware for the R2 – DumaOS 3.3.
While it doesn’t bring immediately ‘obvious’ changes like DumaOS for Mobile, DumaOS 3.3 introduces a powerful new addition – our new AutoDPI. This is a big moment for DumaOS, and it means we’ll be supporting new games and applications faster than ever without needing to wait for a firmware update.
For details on what AutoDPI is and how it’s going to make things better, check out our video on it below:
DumaOS 3.3 also comes with a plethora of bug fixes as well as plenty of stability and usability improvements.
After extensive testing, we’re confident that DumaOS 3.3 puts the R2 is in a really good place: we hope you enjoy it.

Okay as long as Traffic Prioritization is working that is the main thing, we'll take a look at the game and get it sorted for Network Monitor

Hey, welcome to the forum!
Did you disable QoS fully by any chance?
