Netduma Jack B got a reaction from yeraymateo in DumaOS 4.0 - "Never Coming To The XR Series" - I PAID FOR DumaOS! SO I GET LAST YEARS UPDATES!
Hi There,
Clearly you're a bit annoyed about the whole situation, which is understandable. However, just to make things clear. We are not the same company as Netgear, the XR router series is collaboration between Netduma and Netgear.
We informed customers that the XR series would not be getting DumaOS4 about a year ago. However, despite that we have tried and tried to get a final DumaOS 3.3 firmware including a bunch of bugfixes to XR1000 customers, like we have done with the XR700, XR500 and XR450 beta firmwares which you can find on this forum.
Unfortunately, due to technical reasons its not as simple as just releasing a firmware for you to install otherwise we would have done so months ago. We require Netgear to provide us with a very specific firmware for this update, of which they have not had Netgear testing resources to put towards for months. Our software is ready and working, however the hardware waiting on Netgear.
As a side note, the XR series will continue to be supported with new cloud updates for Geo-Filter and DPI compatability, we are not abandoning the products, they just won't receive DumaOS4.

Netduma Jack B got a reaction from Zippy in having to reboot daily..
Just dropping a note in here for anyone following - the new Beta firmware will be next week. There was a couple of issues caught in SQA so we'll need to sort those first. Thanks for your patience.

Hi There,
I can see in the logs that when you plug in the ethernet cable, It often is unable to get a LAN IP.
no address range available for DHCP request via br-lan We believe we've got a fix for this coming in the next Beta firmware (Hopefully Friday). I'll DM it over to you once we've got it and we can see if it fixes your issue.
If you're interested it appears to be a race condition with the DHCP Server: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/base-system/dhcp_configuration#race_conditions_with_netifd

Netduma Jack B reacted to Achilles in Random disconnects with new firmware
PIggy-backing off this comment - keeping tabs on this thread but I've still not yet had another disconnect since adjusting the Xbox settings. At this point I'm not sure if the switches are just a coincidence or not.

We've got some changes coming in the next update. Hopefully it makes some improvments for you!

Netduma Jack B reacted to Slamchez in Random disconnects with new firmware
@Netduma Jack BAlso, just a couple things I noticed. I never fixed my router log settings from the update and reset. They’re still the default time zone which I believe is yours.
We also found a screen a little bit ago on the Xbox that shows data usage. It shows activity until 5am my time and then completely drops off until it was booted at 10am, shortly before I posted. When I get a chance I’ll try and grab a picture.

@SlamchezFeel free to reboot over the weekend if you get the same issue, as we wont be in the office.

Netduma Jack B reacted to Proud R3 Owner in Random disconnects with new firmware
No not on the R3 but ipv6 from the ISP are usually icmp filtered so it's pretty garbage anyway. I'm my opinion it's not worth having until ISPs can figure a better way to not filter icmp as much as ip6 is heavily reliant on it.

Disregard previous posts, at least for Windows. Found the issue: bad cable. Was not providing gigabit to the switch.
