After all the testing I have done.

I have concluded Duma OS classified is the BEST option.

Duma OS classified uses DPI to detect UDP traffic. I believe this is the lowest latency detection wise for that gaming traffic. Delete any other rules you may have, and use the Duma OS classified. TRUST ME.

The reason I say this is because the port based services and even manually entry add more latency IMO.

I have the xr1000 and I promise you, this is the best option. I will test the R2 later this weekend and report back.

OK, in Traffic Prioritisation, could you please add a new rule for your device that you're running ping plotter on and select ICMP-Ping. This will now be a more accurate representation of what you're seeing in game. Could you then run a ping plotter and share the results with this rule enabled?
The spikes you're seeing there make sense as when you're running a connection benchmark, it's filling up the network queue to see how this is handled by QoS.

So this one works better than src 3074-3079
    dest - 1- 65535?

Not true. If you do that rule, it will not capture game traffic. (It turns on and off)

    if you do
    Src 3074-3480
    DST 1-65545
    tcpudp

the game feels significantly better and it turns off when u quit app and when u start a game, it stays on

You need to specify its UDP.

I have source 3074-3076 destination 30.000-45.000 but the above will also work.

my rule only comes on when you’re in the lobby so there is game traffic, it will turn off when you’re idle in the menu. Also 3076 is only because I have multiple ps4s, with only on console you can also set 3074-3074.

    My strategy is,

70/70 or you could manually try to figure out best speeds to get consistent flat line on ping plotter.
    So say you have gig,

Your buffer is technically 700/700 with manual tuning maybe lower, like 700/500 or something like that.

Im not sure if the percentage that should be dragged to your console or pc but since gaming is only 2-4mb,

Id say drag 40% to the console or pc.
So the console will get 280/280 and the rest of the devices will get whatever’s left evenly.

Let me know if this method is valid. Please identify any issues you have with this method.

I think it’ll be a good tool for us nerds, who like to monitor connections! Something to look at mid game and keep on the side!

Ex: I select my device, it pings from my router to device I select (without causing any disruptions) or even just a basic plotter chart from ONT - router!

That could be cool, maybe as a part of the Network Monitor or perhaps Connection Benchmark. I'll suggest it to the team!

I believe it can be done as it's been suggested before and I asked then. I couldn't say when/if that would happen - I know we do have some plans for QoS in general so it could potentially integrate well at that stage but its a way off yet.

I think this was were we chatted what we would like to see and one thing mentioned was the ability to add a different QoS like a piece of cake, FQ CoDel etc. Via a Rapp.
I suppose it depends on the depth of the QoS in the system but it’s a nice suggestion but only Fraser or Liam could say if it was possible or could be implemented.

Do you try and access the router immediately after reboot? If so that may be why, I would recommend waiting 2 minutes before attempting to access, everything should have loaded up correctly by then.

Interesting Fraser.. I have a question then on your above answer.. If say when playing a game like Halo5 and Network Monitor is showing it as unknown does that mean also that on the QoS page the game is unknown as well?  Does this have any effect on how the game performs? Being labeled as unknown?  You say you detect the traffic but why would a game like Halo not be at least added to gaming? Does Halo operate differently and make it difficult to add it to gaming?
There are times when I do see Halo5 pop up as Skype in the NM.. strange thing there is when it does show this the game performs quite well.. When it doesnt show it or shows unknown it doesnt perform as well.. strange tbh why theres no consistency there..
    Thanks!
    Zippy.

Unfortunately we don't know exactly which cores handle which tasks, that's a hardware question and we only make the software I'm afraid! What are the other cores running at?

Hey Fraser. The .54 FW you gave me felt great! Maybe NG cleaned up some of their FW??

anyways, my next question to you would be CPU3. I heard packet acceleration On the NG forums which you said. Any confirmation on this? If it was a thing, how would it work? I see my CPU3 working like 1 to 1.5 to 2 sometimes but most of the time 0

I agree. The R2 is def the best rn ; I got the xr1000 as well and I think the NG firmware is too hefty on it atm which degrades the results.

    Best bet : R2 —- AP XR1000
