Hey Duma Staff, could we see an update to the ovpn client that would allow us as the user to update the client ourselves rather than having it update after every milestone, this would be extremely useful for people wanting to use an OVH as it only accepts the latest version at any given time. If this could be added that would be amazing! Cheers Guys :)

Are you using the OpenVPN files for Linux? DumaOS counts as Linux in this case.
Also we use OpenVPN version 2.3.4 and some ovpn files won't work if they're newer.
So check with The Gamers VPN if they have any 2.3.4 compatible OVPN files, targeted for use on Linux. If needs be you may have to contact them.
If you need any more info, let me know!

In that case please take out the entire tls auth block as well and try again. If that fails could you provide the zip folder for the OpenVPN config files that thegamersvpn provided you with please and I can take a look.
No it shouldn't be sensitive to spaces.

In the meantime, I'm using a second router connected to the VPN behind the netduma, to which it's all ready for the duma to operate with ports opened. hope this helps someone out

    1. I believe so but it is not top of the list so still a quite a few months away at least. Is there anything specific you desire? The obvious one is running a file server of course
    2. We could on some routers but not all and it is not straightforward. Is there a reason you ask?
    3. Sure that is a good idea!
Thanks for the kind words very much appreciated

Sorry I should have been more explicit, I think you emailed someone else and eventually the question reached me. I understand your frustration but we have limited resources (as does every company!) and therefore we must prioritise what we think the customers want. We are developing features that a huge percentage of the #DumaAmry want where as IPv6 (albeit important) is desired by far fewer. It is definitely on the roadmap we just have a few other features we want to get out first. Hope you understand. And it is not a political sidestep at all, I have no interest in doing that.

We're very happy with our NG relationship, they make in my opinion the best quality router hardware and have an excellent team.
Thanks for the feedback, I think we should be able to find away to ping different servers via a button on the UI. The problem would be determine the server set for different games but it is probably feasible.
I hear you on the traceroute, my initial idea for the Geo-Filter actually used filtering by number of hops. This ended up not working, I'm based in the UK and I found that I'd get to NYC in less hops than I would to Scotlan in some instances. That inspired me to develop the Geo-Filter based on IP mapping which required huge compression and was a load of fun to develop,  alas I digress....

Sure, I think we will do that soon
That's a good idea. We are doing heavy research into improving QoS that people should see the benefits from soon

We could add a ping plotter/ping route R-App, it could be useful to see what parts of your packet's trip are causing lag. We could look into adding a third 'spectate' type to allow/deny enable watching server without impacting the rest of the geofilter, or adding another panel which hosts a list of servers that it pings. Thanks for the suggestion.

VLan is definitely a useful feature, we plan on adding it in a later version.

We are definitely interested in expanding the appeal that our routers have. Parental controls would be a nice addition to DumaOS, it could have features like periods of time devices can access the internet.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by not supporting a Nintendo Switch, you can configure your Nintendo Switch devices in the device manager and the R1 allows full port forwarding from 1 - 65535 on both protocols. We don't currently have DMZ in our R1 firmware but we do plan to add it in a later version.

Could DumaOS have some sort of Ping Plotter built in? If so that would be great! Also could we have some sort of game server status to check if servers are online or offline?

Hi Thorny - the advice above is great. We've got loads of Aussie folks in the DumaArmy, it's a widespread problem. The issue is that the game developers can't be bothered to build a better server infrastructure for Australia since the player base is small. The result is a massive server region, incorporating NZ, Indonesia, even as far as Japan. That's the same for all online games you're likely to play - Fortnite is the same for example.
No real way to control lag comp on your end; having a higher ping to the game can sometimes mitigate it, but for the most part you just have to bite the bullet and hope more servers are built!

Well first off, these people that skip across your screen I have also encountered here in NZ on 23 ping, I was once part of the problem when I was put on 4g for a few weeks and found myself winning gunfights I knew I should have lost but i also had terrible hit reg/delay, the problem isn't you or your internet in this case, but the game's lag compensation and players not being placed into the correct regional servers. But usually, I only encounter it 1 out of every 10-15 matches. Throttling your internet won't help you as much as it would hinder you. I sometimes try and avoid this problem (And the annoying players in OCE) by surfing California servers if the ping (130-150) isn't too big a deal

Don’t worry about the warning message, the cloud is still being flushed properly. There are still a lot of servers that are incorrectly showing as peers but it’s just a visual issue. Netduma are currently working on another cloud update to correct more servers that show as peers as far as I’m aware.

the reason you cant see other people is because the dedicated server hides the IP addresses of other players, this was likely because of blackout, you should still, however, see the dedicated server/ host. as of right now there is no possible way for the netduma team to help you with this unfortunately, this feature may come back in later cods from now. As for the host problem, even if the host doesnt show up, you will still find a lobby inside your set filter range so it shouldn't be an issue

Thanks for confirming. Players are still anonymous (i.e there's no way to tell which player is which on the map). As for dedicated servers showing as peers, we're looking into solving some of those cases in our next cloud update

Could you try resetting your R1. Then fully disable QoS in anti-Bufferbloat options. Now go to system information so you can see the CPU graph.
Run your speedtest and see the speeds it can reach. The CPU should hit 100% at some point, which is why the R1 is limited to 700mbps - it’s older hardware so limited
