  1. Could you provide a screenshot of the WiFi analyzer for 2.4 & 5GHz pages, also the connected and networks tab please. Something isn't right if you have to be right next to it to connect. Also what is the model of the device you're checking the packet loss on? What WiFi adapter does it have?

  2. Leaving CC and all that to the side then for the moment, you'll be encountering WiFi interference then most likely. Have you changed any WiFi settings manually other then Smart Connect and what I mentioned? I.e. Switched to a different channel? Try these suggestions:

Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that - there is an app called WiFi Analyzer that is free on the Microsoft Store for Windows

Ensure the router is in an elevated position - not on a metal surface

Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible

Set the antennae to this position _ | | _

You said it happened a few months ago randomly, did you add any new devices to your network, move the router, have new neighbors etc?

  3. With your connection saturated i.e. all your available bandwidth is being used - the easiest way to do that is with a sufficiently long download and using 2.5ms interval for PingPlotter? At 99% for upload CC is barely active hence the higher upload bufferbloat value on your test

  4. By automatic do you mean the auto setup? You'll need to do the steps I mentioned to sufficiently saturate your connection and then systematically reduce the percentages to find the best percentages to eliminate bufferbloat. Also a reason for the results there is the interval for Ping Plotter should be kept at 2.5, the company who created Ping Plotter have even said themselves that 0.5 will result in bad results if you'd like to check. You're pinging the target faster than your local network can even carry that request forward to get out to the internet hence a lot of loss.

Whether you believe this is the cause or not it is necessary to perform what I've asked exactly as mentioned, otherwise we'll never get to the cause and you'll continue having the problem. That means also connecting every device to the XR, I get you're having issues connecting devices/disconnects so we can deal with that first if you'd like.

Regarding WiFi so you have Smart Connect disabled is that right? Do you get the same issue with Smart Connect enabled? Change the 5GHz mode down from the highest value to the next value down, I believe it's around 2400Mbps, reboot the router from the interface, wait 4 minutes then see if those devices can connect to it.

After several tests, the ideal configuration for my connection is to lower the speed on the R3 to 200/100 and CC to 70%.

Now I am having a problem. When I return to this configuration, the R3 responds to the speeds indicated manually, but when I run a speed test, it still gives 500-600, which is incorrect. How can I get the R3 to correctly accept the speeds I indicate?

It's because you have speed test bypass enabled in the Congestion Control settings

I've restarted my router five times already and it keeps telling me that some functions aren't working.
I press ‘Continue anyway’ and it loads, but I can't do anything. It's been like this since I installed the v4.0.645 update.

Safari forces HTTPS so try a different browser please, check if that browser forces HTTPS and if so disable it for the interface. If it still occurs could you change the LAN IP of the router back to default and see if that works better please?

  7. If devices are still being used on the EE router at the time it will affect your results. Follow this guide https://support.netduma.com/frequently-asked-questions/legacyfaqs/test-your-ping/ while downloading & start with 95% for Congestion Control (set to Always), check results, decrease by 10%, check, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good & then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values.

i have connected most of my devices to the EE router. The congestion control is on, I have tried using traffic prioritisation, which did not change anything, i am still getting huge spikes in game.

The EE router? What do you mean by Congestion Control is on, it's a percentage based feature, what have you set it to?

Thank you Fraser.  I thought you might think I'm lying or trolling that's why I posted original details. Stealth gamer has added R3's  RF Power out on their website. It'll take a week to get an approval for my R'3. Right now I'm mainly playing battlefield 6 the game is match making me on high ping servers I hope R3 will help me to play on low ping servers.

No worries, totally get it, I'm sure it will help, fingers crossed you get it soon!

  10. To force servers you need to do the following:

It's essential the Geo-Filter is enabled before the game client (e.g. Steam etc) if on PC or platform (e.g. Xbox, PlayStation) or the game have been launched. If you change Geo-Filter settings when you're on the game then you will need to restart the game for those changes to take effect, otherwise it will use the previous Geo-Filter settings and appear not to be working.

For settings ensure Ping Assist and Geo-Latency are disabled in the Geo-Filter menu that can be found by clicking ⋮ in the top right hand corner of the page and go to Settings.

Strict Mode should also be enabled, it is enabled by default so if you haven't disabled it you can ignore it. If you have disabled it or want to check it can be found in the same Settings menu as above or in Settings > Troubleshooting > Advanced > Developer Options depending on your firmware version. Fast Search should also be disabled which it is by default so can be ignored if you haven't changed it, otherwise this can be found in the same place.

  11. That's correct, do this:

    1. Quit the application/game/client completely - including the game client from the System Tray - important!
    2. Remove device from the Geo-Filter
    3. Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu
    4. Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter
    5. Set up the Geo-Filter how you like
    6. Wait 2 minutes
    7. Boot up application/game/client

It's essential the Geo-Filter is enabled before the game client or the game have been launched. If you change Geo-Filter settings when you're on the game then you will need to restart the game for those changes to take effect, otherwise it will use the previous Geo-Filter settings and appear not to be working.

  12. I can only go based on the information provided and what I can see are various aspects of your setup that could cause packet loss and instability so I can't rule them out. Networking has many variables and things change all the time. If you haven't changed anything then it is quite possible it's on the ISP side, the first step would be to see if you get the same issue when connected to the ISP modem/router. If you do then that's the cause, if you don't then you'd need to setup in the way I mentioned as much as possible to rule out those possibilities. I'm sure if you set it up again that way we can help with those issues also.
