The fix you got WAS significant however. It fixed DNS lookups. Your old version of firmware lost 7-15% of ALL dns look ups. This was terrible. Thats fixed now.

What this update did tho was HIDE the spikes so you cant see them with ICMP Ping and common tools based on ping.

You need a Broadcom based modem.

I would call it cosmetic. I would know.

You have your Pingplotter set for ICMP.. This is a mistake.. It needs to be set for TCP. AIm it at google.com and set the interval for 0.05... And the spike will be very clear indeed..

You see... There is no Intel Puma, 5,6 or 7 that has been fixed in any country in the world on any ISP..

The press looks to me for updates on this matter. So I can be considered a verifiable reference.

For gaming, EVERY MODEM ON THIS LIST SHOULD BE CONSIDERED CRAP UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. http://badmodems.com/Forum/app.php/badmodems

I have a web site and it has a "is it fixed" link I will update once a version of firmware is available that might, or might not, fix the issue. http://badmodems.com/

This video shows the most recent firmware and has TCP and ICMP pingplotters running at the same time.

Can we all behave like adults please? This is a support forum to help people. Under my post I don't want anymore high school behaviour otherwise the ban hammer is going to make an appearance. If your post isn't about a modem I don't want to see it here.

You always know it's an evil contract if it's written on a scroll.

Anyway, happy testing guys, there's been some great advice shared on this thread so I hope it continues.

MoD and PharmDawgg have done all the hard work for us going thru a pretty impressive amount of modems before finding the TC-7610 and I'm glad people are getting night and day different results by switching from their old modem to one that's compatible, myself included.

We're not saying you can only use the TC-7610 but for how well it preforms and the price point it's kinda hard not to suggest it if your in the market for a new modem.

I wish more people would listen when we give suggestions when troubleshooting and trying to help them and we bring up their "modem" as they usually rule it out rather quickly.Just because it's new doesn't mean it works well with the duma or well in general.

But IMO the TC-7610 is / was a great find again thanks MoD and PharmDawgg...

Someone needs to test out the new Arris SB8200 and the Netgear CM1000. So far these haven't had any issues, though the CM1000 had a bug at release, but Netgear patched it right away.

With each subsystem we will come to you for feedback before we start development. This gives you the opportunity to put forth your ideas and potentially have them included in the new subsystem.

For each new subsystem we will:
Have a round one thread for general feature request open for 1 day. This will give you the opportunity to give your ideas for each subsystem. If you think a persons idea is good make sure to click 'Like' so we can assess demand. Have a round two thread where we will collect the ideas and ask specific details about them. After that development will commence. Please do not complain about the subsystem. We are doing it in order of what is best for development not what is most appealing. Please keep in mind we may use all/some/none of your ideas in the final product.
