It looks like because it has been mislocated and you've allowed it that it now thinks you're in the EU. Hard turn off the console and put the filter to include the rest of the US but exclude the east coast. I'm making a list of incorrectly located servers for a big cloud update this week, I'll include this one in there and once that's done it should be easier to get US servers.

Hi Fraser, Just wanted to share 2 more Hosts with High pings (Average 80s). I was testing again and set the filter in the western area and it kept going to these 2 hosts which were outside my radius. It did not block them. (screen shots below)

Hi Fraser,

Just wanted to check and see if you had updated the incorrect servers for pro clubs in the US? I keep getting connected to the same hosts mentioned above with average pings of 80. :(

Not yet, devs are working on more automation with the incorrect cloud so it can be more frequent and accurate. Will let you know when I've done the update. Move your location to avoid them.

Ok sounds good. As for the location, I have tried moving it but it keeps matchmaking to those hosts even though they are outside my radius. Thanks for the update :)

Make sure you haven't added it to the allow section. If you haven't I have sent you a hot fix firmware by PM that may help.

Hi Fraser, just wanted to give you an update. I applied the hot-fix. Geo-filter is still connecting to hosts outside my radius.

Could you provide a screenshot of this happening please?

Could you also click on a host outside of your range that has been allowed through and let us know its ID please

No worries :)

Hi,

I am thinking about buying this router, but it will be mainly for FIFA. As this is the only game I have not been able to find a solution for. But I don't want to buy it before getting someone's opinion on this. I noticed you have not posted in while. I hope you will see this.

I live in the UK and the FIFA experience is just horrendous.

I would like to know how is the router working out for you in, in regards of button delay and lag (I play on both consoles):

- FUT Divisions Seasons

- FUT Draft

- and the Weekend League.

I would really appreciate your feedback!

Regards

While you wait for Mr Ghost's response, we are in the UK and when we test FIFA we can get very low pings and therefore the game experience is much better. One of our employees plays FIFA and is pleasantly surprised when the screen doesn't judder anymore like they were used to!

Hi,

Thanks for the update! I had two R1s, but they made everything worse after 4-5 weeks.

Could you advise what server addresses you ping? Just so I can have a go now and check with my current setup!!! I did monitor easo.ea.com with ping plotter and this is what I get.

I am with ZEN and I have been sent back and forth between EA and ISP. Could you advise who is responsible for routing the packets when they leave ZEN's network? Is it EA or ISP? I hope this is not too much to ask on this thread!

Thanks!!!

I'm actually getting P2P connections right now so one I just had was about 12ms so can't give you a specific IP.

If anyone it would be your ISP, EA has no control over that. Thats a US server so no surprise that the ping is high.

Thank you for your prompt reply!

I understand that the main server is in the US, I was wondering if it is possible to get some sort of address of the Weekend League servers so I can check them. I checked one: Utas.fut.ea.com, which is in London.

Could you correct me if I am mistaken? Let's take into account games like FIFA, SFV or Injustice 2 (this is what I play mainly). How are the packets transmitted, as you need to connect to their servers first?

Is this how my packets travel when I play:

- P2P - Me ---> Main Server ---> Opponent --> Main Server ---> Me

- Dedicated server - Me ---> Main Server ---> Dedicated server ---> Opponent --> Dedicated server ---> Main Server ---> Me?

I am trying to figure this one out.

Moreover, my ISP told me the following when challenged about the route (it changed from Akamai network to GTT network):

"We've had a deeper look into this for you. The connection between ourselves and GTT's Manchester gateway is on a dedicated fibre link so, as you'd expect, the latency is <1ms. After that, and within GTT's own network is where the latency occurs. GTT is a transit company, providing data connections to the States. We've tried contacting GTT in order to raise an issue but we've been unsuccessful.

We have a peering agreement with EA directly, but EA choose to have almost all their public-facing network services with 3rd parties. Just to give you some idea, we sent only 8Gb of traffic to EA last year.

We choose our peering partners based on only the fastest speed, cost is not a factor." How can I approach this matter, as GTT won't do anything about it because I am not their customer?

I really struggle to make this game work, so I do not want to spend over £200 and be disappointed afterwards!

I hope it helps why I am asking all the questions, as I was super excited about the R1 when I received it!

I understand where you're coming from, you're going to incredible lengths to try and get good gameplay. There is almost nothing you can do about the route though, it doesn't just affect you and GTT will not want to change anything on that front. All you personally can control is the connection within your home so eliminating local congestion, getting on the closest server possible. I'll try to find the IPs for you but I do not have them to hand

P2P doesn't involve servers at all. It's just two peers sending data to each other with no host, hence "peer to peer". FIFA uses one player as the server (aka host) so peer hosted games ≠ P2P. I highly doubt FIFA uses P2P because someone (the home team) always seems to have host advantage. People tend to get these types of matchmaking mixed up, especially in CoD where there has never been P2P. Battle(non)sense covers it pretty well in his analysis videos...

Hi MihaiL1804,

To be honest, it’s better! In regards to button delay and latency, it all ties into the distance between you and your opponent’s location. With the Geo-filter enabled (ex: my location (U.S). I find games less than 100ms ping depending on the server/host. My average ping for pro club games in the U.S is 25-75ms (which is great). The bad part is when I play with people in the UK. That's where button delay and latency kicks in (average ping of 150-170ms) and this is because of distance. My player is sluggish or unresponsive. There are also servers that are mis-located in the US and I have mentioned this to Fraser for the next cloud update. Overall, the XR500 gives you more control on how you connect with other players and gives you the ability to deny bad hosts so that you will always have a reliable connection when gaming. I also want to point out that the Netduma team is always willing to help and they respond really fast. :)
