Raiden36
First, I would like to say thank you for this great product. The Netduma router has helped me since the beginning of the year and I really appreciate your work in making all of this possible. I have an Open NAT Type in Black Ops 3 for PS4 but my connection is basically like a light switch. One match I do really well with being impossible to kill and always winning the battles that I come across but in the next match it is the complete opposite. Is there a way for me to throttle my speeds or set up a static ip address so that I won't have to deal with the lag compensation anymore? I am also trying to stream but am running into a lot of lag when I do it. After going to speedtest.net and then confirming this with my ISP (AT&T) these are the results Download: 5.5 Mbps Upload: .4 kbps (I thought this was weird at first but AT&T said that this is the best that I can get in my area as U-Verse is not availible)
JConnor
No offense, but you shouldn't be streaming. You have barely enough to game, let alone stream. You need a minimum of 2000-5000kbps e.g. 2-5MB upload for 720p @ 30fps (Twitch and Youtube standards). Also, with such a low upload the Netduma isn't going to help that much since the netcode in CoD has ranges we are all experimenting with as far as what is the least amount of upload one can have to gain an competitive advantage with the lag comp... either naturally due to slow internet like yourself, or when we "throttle" our upload Why don't you focus on something more productive such as... just game as best you can and not worry about streaming? You can record your games and post them to Youtube with commentary (or not)? That's a good stepping stone to streaming... Especially when you don't have good internet. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 15, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 15, 2015 As JConnor says you really don't have enough to stream, it just won't be possible, you have just enough to play a game. I would recommend you prioritise your PS4. You just need a low ping, check what your base ping is and focus on trying to get games as close as possible. It hard to say what is a good ping, but I would say below 50 is quite good, so long as there isn't to much jitter.

In the future, you will get much better responses if you make a new thread with your specifics. If you are lucky, you may be able to catch one of the more knowledge team members in the Chat (listed at the top and to the right of the page). bagsta69
Another thing to remember is that the R1 cannot stop people from a long way away with high ping from entering your lobby. It can only help get you low ping to hosts. Others have already answered your speeds question but as an example of what I am talking about, I was gaming solo on blops 3 the other night with my filter set to cover the UK where I live. I was getting 11 ms average ping to host on South coast dedi, the entire lobby was getting low pings and I was averaging 3-8 KDR every game on HC TDM. My friend joined my party from Connecticut with around a ping of 120MS. All my games after that were between 1 and 2 KDR and sweaty as hell. I did not mind though as the social aspect id far more important than my KDR and everybody likes to bitch.
Raiden36
Thank you for the advice Here's an update as to how things are going I set my ISP's router to bridge mode and have UPnP enabled last night and had an Open NAT Type which led to a great experience for me in a long time. This is what I am having trouble with: 1) How do I set up a static IP address for my PS4? Do I use the WAN IP field under PPPoE when I am at my Netduma's screen? 2) How to set my Netduma into the DMZ on my ISP's router? Is there anything else that I need to do to maintain this good connection that I got last night where I had perfect hit detection? I appreciate the help that you all have given me
secretface
To set static Ip's you will need the mac address off of your cosol first. As far as the DMZ of the isp router would have to know the brand and isp though most are accessed via 192.168.1.1 am I right?

I appreciate the help that you all have given me To set a static IP for your console go to settings > DHCP lease and reserve for your PS4 and choose a number between 100-250 I believe. If you've put the ISP hub in bridge mode that should be fine but for DMZ you take the WAN IP from the device manager and put it in the DMZ section on your ISP hub
Raiden36
Thank you This isn't a problem with Black Ops 3 but I'm having problems with DNS whenever I am using my laptop and cell phone (both are connected wirelessly to the netduma) and my PS4 whenever I stream Netflix (the PS4 is hardwired). Raiden36
In the Netdumas interface I've tried using both automatic and then manually putting in Google's DNS settings and still get DNS errors.
